He may not have survived the purge.many of the young and some of the elderly will not be seen again in Houston.
Cool! Still hoping Abdelfattah is back at some point, but we needed a completely new team. And while some liked the yelling by Lucas, in the end, I don't think it was good for his own health and you should be able to get your point across without constant animated gestures and going nuts on the sidelines. I appreciated him for sure and he's likely staying in a FO role anyway. Best part is no "big names" or some random dudes. These are largely guys Ime had under him before or had good relationships with. Silas's staff was random AF.
All for the best. Time to wash the stench off the last few years and start Phase 2 smelling more like dollar store air freshener than a pile of caca. Phase 3 will let us buy expensive cologne.
Reid Laymance @ReidLaymance Interesting part to me is no John Lucas ... we'll wait to see what role, if any, he will have with Rockets https://t.co/aY7iT6w2Jd via @houstonchron
The fact that this is clearly Udoka's staff and not the Rocket's staff for Udoka, I'm even more comfortable about where we are. Now we have enough maturity in the locker room and no best friend coaches for the youngsters. Make or break time, for all of them. Green and Sengun are on borrowed time, it's now where they prove whether they're stars or roleplayers. Jabari and Eason need to work on progressing before it's their turn next year. Amen and Whitmore actually have it slightly easier as an entry as theirs will be the typical one for draft picks coming into an established team of players, time to see whether all the "franchise player" and "upside" talk the last 2 years will show out or not. I'm here for it.
Abdelfattah went to Australia to coach in the NBL. Only thing I remember Feigen saying was that Lucas wasn't on the staff. I don't know if that means in any capacity on the team or just not on the coaching staff. Feigen also added that Sullivan would be coaching the summer league team. All the coaches used to work with Udoka in some capacity.
