This is what people fail to understand with the whole tank at all costs. It’s like when the Lakers overbid for Deng and Mozgov. When you’re the worst team in the league, you have to overpay for guys that aren’t even A level free agents and some not even B level. You take the scraps and hope that you improve the team marginally enough to eventually get your respect back.

Still not worth it when he had the single biggest negative impact (due to taking a ton of shots on low efficiency) on offense this past season. There's a reason Memphis all but publicly told him to f*** off and die in a fire.

Some of y'all are too emotional. I don't like Brooks' attitude, but clearly Udoka wanted him for his defense and I can trust that.

We need an elite defender to teach our wings how it's done right and we're getting one.

 

I like this as long as it is short-ish. I believe that Udoka will control terrible shots? If I remember correctly, he is only one year removed from being an efficient offense of player.

He is in the top five or six perimeter defenders in the week. Someone like Grant Williams is a good defender but not a great perimeter option. We can put Brooks on the other teams best perimeter option. Freddy guards the second option and Green either guards the point guard or the worst offensive player.

 

I'd rather have you on the team than Brooks. At least you won't shoot.

yeah I just don’t get how you overcome his awful offense and his desire to do more on offense.
