A players 3rd year is always the big now or never for the trajectory of what kind of player one will generally be in this league. Huge year for him coming up. Lets see if he can make a significant impact
No this is all that happens with nba training. Every time Green trains there is a Twitter comp of it so we have access to every second of Green training.
Maybe this is the year where he finally improves enough to be a net neutral player, neither beneficial or detrimental. I know, I'm an optimist.
All the negative nancies here making fun of Green over benign workout videos... Please don't enjoy the fruits of labor if this team does make jumps along with Green. Just log off and enjoy the Rockets doing better with your family and friends or something but not on Clutchfans. Because posters here will not forget and make signatures and memes off your expense.
Hopefully this year… Talent + staying in the lab + the game slows down for him = hes ready for the next step….perennial all star.
it's the tank that's been hindering him to make that next step now that there's a clearer sense of order in the team and a goal to win he'll surely be making strides this season
As Yolo said , third year is typically when players show you who they are going to be. The exceptions are usually bigs. Big year for Green.
Jalen gets clowned on for making his metrosexual fashion videos, now gets clowned on when working at the gym. Ol' boy can't win.
Looking stronger. Shoulders noticeably bigger. Added muscle is going to help him finish at the rim. Udoka demanding crisper execution will improve the spacing before we even add more shooters. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: you could not have handpicked a worse roster or tactical plan or spacing or defensive teammates for Jalen Green if you tried. It was the worst roster in the NBA for Green’s skills. Other rebuilding teams are going out of their way to help their top draft picks (eg Banchero), we went the other way and made the court into hell for him. That’s the cost of taking that brutally - I don’t blame his teammates. You’re going to see a monster scorer next season and it’s not because of this workout video. It’s because he’s insanely talented, athletic and wants to be much much better. Udoka will do wonders for him.
He wasn't far from that last year, just 2 more PPG and 2 more percentage points on FG and 3PT%. I think better shot selection will get him there in and of itself, hopefully Ime can put him in better spots to succeed than Silas. He literally was that last year with his 0.0 VORP.
I think it is obvious that Green and Sengun will make huge jumps this year as a combination of actual coaching and getting their bodies closer to nba level. Jabari will still need some time, though he will be noticably better as well. Waiting eagerly on the betting line from vegas.
3rd year - it is time! His 3point shot still has that manky dip to the left hip. Let's assume that never changes. It isn't hard to see him scoring close to 25ppg this year But we still needed to see more of John Lucas pulling on his hips while he was shooting...
All the players in the NBA work on their mid range game in the summer so how come 98% of the league sucks at making them? Lol
The irony is Green is in the 91st percentile in on/off team scoring efficiency. As in when he's on the court, he's better than 91% of players in increasing their team's scoring efficiency. https://cleaningtheglass.com/stats/player/4865/onoff#tab-team_efficiency KPJ for reference. https://cleaningtheglass.com/stats/player/4601/onoff#tab-team_efficiency
:27 mark of the video. If he is able to add that mid-post shot (off the bump no less) to his bag with added strength and his leaping ability... kid could be unstoppable. At the very least glad to see him working on shots from multiple areas of the court, especially the catch and shoot. I would love to see him get easier shots this year from a playmaking point, but we need him to be able to make them.
Where do I apply for the job of Short Chunky White Guy Who Half-heartedly Chases NBA Players in Workout Videos with Sticks?
