That will work this season since the new CBA rules won't be fully in effect. It won't work beginning the following season. If you're over that 2nd line (which I think they'd have to be if they give Brown a super max deal), then it's going to be really difficult to even add players to the roster. Limited on trade rules, unable to sign buyout guys, etc... It may be a case of them going for it next season and then they plan to adjust after that to get rid of either Brown or Portzingis.

Paul they could just waive and take the cap hit. They don't care since he is only partially guaranteed this year, and not at all next. The Warriors wanted to get rid of Poole so Dray would sign again. May be a cash dump for them?
