It would be nice, but realistically I know better than to get that excited. Hopefully we get a top 2 pick, but....
I think that, and the fact that Houston was unwilling to include him in the Stoudamire trade package, is all that anyone remembers about Rodrick.
The Tank makes it's final approach to a long traveled destination. Tomorrow we begin the future of a homegrown championship team. We will earn it as fans and as a team. Time to retire the tank to the junkyard/scrapyard? Do tanks go to heaven?
I personally like the kid from Bama more than Scoot due to shooting... but happy to add any of the top 3 to the team. Hopefully its Wemby and being the bigger market in the small lottery pond pays off.
If we win then it will be a strong argument for a rigged lottery. Houston obviously brings the most drama. Adding Wemby to our team makes for all sorts of talking head headlines: Can Troubled Coach Udoka Connect with Wemby? Will Wemby be able to help repair Ime's reputation? Can Wemby play with Harden? Will he learn bad habits from Harden? Is playing with Harden good for Wemby? Will Wemby clash with Jalen, Jabari, and Sengun? Will Wemby steal the spotlight from those 3? With the addition of Wemby and Harden, are there enough shots for those 3? Will Wemby be ok with always being outclassed by Patrick Fertitta, former most eligible bachelor in the Houston area?
Ideally Harden would have the least amount of shots out of those 4. He'd be better as a facilitator and wouldn't need to rely on his scoring, or lack there of, in some games he has a dud.
#1 pick will go to a non top 3 team, like when Houston won the pick to get Yao that year. Portland or Charlotte
