Now that a few years have ran their course since the Harden Years, I can look at him more objectively. Great skills, hard worker -- but he doesn't have the It gene. I don't see Harden making the same speech as Curry did before game 7 and getting his Rockets' buy-in. Not when he shrinks/pouts/gets concussed in the playoffs. We had a good shot with CP that year. Windows close. And history is going to (if it hasn't already) judge Harden as a really good regular season player. In this way, he's not that different from McGrady. What a shame for us Rockets fans.
Harden almost took out an all-time team. Harden achieved much more post-season success than any rockets team since Hakeem. It's true that Harden has doesn't really have a winning attitude like the top-tier superstar "winners", and this "it" factor does worth a lot. For all Harden's faults, I can say the same for Kyrie Irving. If you pair these dudes without leadership quality with the right leader, you can still win a chip with them. That's the pairing with Chris Paul had a realistic chance. But alas, it seemed that Harden broke that team up due to his same said lack of leadership flaw.
Tbh comparing Harden to Steph is like comparing Karl Malone to Dream. All 4 are great but the latter 2 are a higher tier.
Half of Steph's points come from the step back three, a move that he had to learn and borrow from Harden. Ask me again, who changed the game.
Are you under the impression that Harden invented that move? That move existed before either player. Curry was using it even before he (or Harden) became a star. The reason it became so associated with Harden is because he made it a much bigger part of his shot diet that anyone else. Curry didn't learn it or borrow it from Harden, he began using it more when he began taking a bigger load of the offense on himself.

curry obsession is a little weird. Harden playing well, i'm pulling for him. But this just makes his stans look insecure and crazy. Curry will be (most peoples) top 15 all time
