I have only seen 2 2024 mock drafts so far, but they have both had Arizona picking #1 with the Texans pick.
Who makes the playoffs first the Texans or the Rockets? I still have the Rockets but the Texans have closed the gap big time. If Stroud is the real deal, talk about an awesome turnaround.
Ya'll have to admit, this draft was one of the most entertaining drafts in a long time... especially with all the trades lol.
I feel like there's a little more room to drastically change your franchise overnight in the NFL with a good draft. The only way to really do that in the NBA is to make blockbuster trades/free agent signings, and those opportunities are rarely available to a bad team not based in California or New York. The tricky thing is that the Rockets have a bit of a head start on the rebuild and are also looking ahead to a potentially huge offseason if they land Wemby since he's talked about as the best prospect since LeBron. So I think I'd give the Rockets the edge right now, but we'll know more in 15 days when the NBA draft lottery happens.
He'll probably wind up with a team that really doesn't need him. NBA Draft Lottery is probably as corrupt as ______________.
1. Philadelphia Eagles 2. Indianapolis Colts 3. Houston Texans 1-2 C.J. Stroud, QB, Ohio State 1-3 Will Anderson Jr., Edge, Alabama 2-62 Juice Scruggs, C, Penn State 3-69 Tank Dell, WR, Houston 4-109 Dylan Horton, Edge, TCU 5-167 Henry To'oTo'o, LB, Alabama 6-201 Jarrett Patterson, C, Notre Dame 6-205 Xavier Hutchinson, WR, Iowa State 7-248 Brandon Hill, S, Pitt Favorite pick: C.J. Stroud, QB, Ohio State These rankings focus just on the players added, not on trade value or compensation given up. Unsurprisingly, then, the Texans rank pretty high as they landed two of the best players in the draft class. Will Anderson Jr. is a cornerstone player that Houston can build around, but Stroud gives the organization an exciting future at the sport’s most important position. Day 3 pick who could surprise: Jarrett Patterson, C, Notre Dame I liked Juice Scruggs better, but my grade on Patterson wasn’t too far behind — and the Texans grabbed the Notre Dame lineman four rounds later than it took Scruggs. Patterson isn’t a top-tier athlete, and his lack of length shows at times, but he is a skilled player with alert eyes and stubborn hands. His guard-center experience will provide valuable depth at multiple positions.
Texans Stroud is good enough to get them to the playoffs fairly quickly. Never gonna beat Mahomes/Burrow etc ... though
This is a very good question, Levis and Richardson have more natural ability, but Stroud is more pro ready. The real question is who will be the best QB in five years.
