He’s a Houston Texan and I’ll happily root for him. I hope he becomes the greatest Texan of all time and wins multiple accolades and titles. I was pulling for whoever Demeco wanted. Let’s go Texans!!! H-Town!!!
Haha anyone that thinks Stroud is sitting behind Mills or Keenum is crazy. You can fall on either side of the argument about how you think he'll end up in his career, but one thing for sure is that he's easily the most talented QB on this roster now. And most importantly, we don't have a dumbass like BOB walking the sidelines anymore, so a Savage-over-Watson situation won't happen this time around.
I mean they shouldn't just give him the starting spot but he should win it pretty easily considering his competition. I don't think it would be all that bad if you played Mills and Mills played well because the best way to get draft capital is to take mid round and late round QBs and build them up and then trade them away to desperate QB needy teams. So I hope Mills actually competes for the spot and shows some other NFL team that maybe he's worth another shot at it but yeah eventually Stroud should find his way starting before the end of the year.
The Texans should allow Mills to compete for the job and if he wins give him the starting job ( Unpopular move - I know). If Mills proves to be a capable starting QB flip him for a 2024 draft pick
No issues with having a QB competition, but my point is based on talent, there really won't be a competition at all. And this time around, there isn't a chuckle**** like BOB around to muck up the process. I fully expect Stroud to be named the starter after a full training camp of evaluation.
Demeco said at the beginning that the incoming rookie will not have the pressure of starting right away. So if he isn’t ready by opening day, there shouldn’t be reason to panic.
If there is an honest QB competition and not the shambolic farce dumbass BOB held during training camp the year we drafted Deshaun, Stroud will be the starter come Week 1. It has nothing to do with pressure on the rookie. It has everything to do with the natural gulf in talent between Stroud and Mills/Keenum.
Thought the CJ comment was pretty interesting from Tank. CJ was in the know that morning. Looks like the front office is already including him in to their thinking etc. Very cool. It wasn't Davis Mills making that call.
