Well, I was against hiring Udoka but here you go Udoka. Blank slate. Blank canvas.

I'm rooting for Udoka to have his priorities straight, his mind in check and a great Rockets career.

People said that our organizational culture and management is so bad that the best coaches might not consider working with us. So congratulations to Stone too on signing one of the top 2 coaching candidates.

At least we're going to be tactically very good and play tough every game. Other than that, I don't know what he brings but it will be fun to find out.

Just tried to explain to the Mrs why Udoka is such a good hire for the Rockets and she was like 'if he's so good, why did Boston let him go?'

Avery Johnson said on CBS he's sure that this is Patrick' Fertitta's hire.

    Obviously it’s Tillman’s Fertita hire.

Man please! You are selling Houston way too short. Houston is one of the top 7 global cities in America. It is the leader of one if the staple industries in the world. Now it isnt the premier city of a first world country like Toronto is but Houston is still a fast growing (domestically and internationally) economic powerhouse.

Besides how long was Ime in Texas for when he was with the Spurs? He's comfortable in Tejas. He dont loke toronto like that bruh.

I was born & raised in Houston and lived there for over 30 years, and I've also traveled all over the country. I can honestly say that I've been to towns with literally 5% of Houston's population that feel more like legitimate cities as opposed to giant, horribly-designed suburbs. I can only think of a few "major cities" in the US where I'd rank the quality of life as lower than Houston's overall. Houston is just a sprawling mess. It must be a massive culture shock for Euro players in particular going from some of the nicest, highest-quality-of-life big cities in the developed world to one of the worst. Can't blame Sergio Llull for not wanting to leave Madrid--I wouldn't either if I were him. Not everything is about money.

I'll still root for my sports teams, and there are still things I'm fond of in Houston, like the food (going to get me some good Mexican food from Teotihuacan next time I'm in town), but I'll never live there again if I can help it. I do believe very few NBA players/coaches will ever want to go there because they like Houston as a city. If they choose to play for the Rockets it'll most likely be for basketball and/or financial reasons.

Note: This is nothing against Houstonians. Largely a lovely, friendly, diverse crowd of great people. It's mainly about the way the city is put together.
