I'd be okay with Stroud, Anderson, or trading back. Right now, my preference would be Anderson. He feels like the safest pick, and he could be the face of the new Demeco Ryan Texans. He has the personality and character to be the leader on that side of the ball. The Texans can't afford to miss, and he just feels like the safest selection of the bunch.
This is why I'm hoping for Anderson and Bijan to be the top 2 picks. Star level players are what you're looking for.
Bijon Robinson is being paired to the Texans based on the 49'ers ties to Debo and CMC. Thats all that is. They didn't have Bijon in on a visit. Hooker has been all over the Houston radio air waves for days.... These guys have nothing.
I think the Texans are thinking they can sit and have one of the top 4 QBs at 12. I also think that teams like Washington and Minnesota will jump them. And then I think the Texans would take Hooker. Which I'm not a huge fan of. But I'm a know nothing, so we'll wait and see.
With so many holes you couldnt go wrong. I might even go further and say Tyree Wilson fits DeMeco's defense better.
This is probably one of his biggest red flags to me, he sat out of his bowl game and watched his team get destroyed, plus he doesn't seem to be the kind of teammate you want your franchise guy to be. Is it something that can be tested, of course not, but the way these guys talk about Duggan or Stroud, or even Hendon Hooker seems to be quite different than Levis.
I think this is exactly what they will do.. I hope if they do go defense it is Anderson at 2 if not just trade down. But I think if 1 of the top 4 drop they might bite.. “not sure if AR fall they would take him” but they would definitely take a hard look at Hooker.
I'm beginning to think there's a decent chance there's one of the top 4 QB's available at 12. Or at the very least available toward the back half of the top 10 that we could trade up for. 3. Arizona - could definitely trade out, but there's at least a decent chance they don't and they take a defensive player 4. Colts - definitely taking QB (Stroud or Levis) 5. Seahawks - could surprise by taking a QB, but I'd doubt it 6. Lions - like Seattle, most likely won't take a QB, but could surprise 7. Raiders - probably take a QB 8. Falcons - won't go QB 9. Bears - won't go QB 10. Eagles - won't go QB 11. Titans - could go QB, but would be a bit surprising 12. Texans So let's say it plays out something like this 3. Arizona: Wilson/Anderson 4. Colts: Levis 5. Seahawks: Carter? 6. Lions: Illinois CB 7. Raiders: Stroud 8. Falcons: Nolan Smith or some T/G 9. Bears: Skoronski 10. Eagles: CB or DE 11. Titans: wildcard, but could very well be JSN 12. Texans could have Richardson sitting there, or even Levis or Stroud I don't think it's too far fetched to think that one of the top 4 QBs gets to 12, or that they at least fall to the 7-11 range and the Texans could swing a trade to go get one.
It’s a risk for sure, but one I wouldn’t be opposed to taking based strictly on potential and upside. See Jalen Hurts 2nd round pick, see Lamar Jackson last pick of 1st rd and 5th QB taken, see Josh Allen selected after Baker and Darnold. Of course, that line of thinking also includes results like Trey Lance’s less than stellar results in limited action
How could we miss this blatant sign all along. Dude has the name of our NEWSPAPER tattooed on his arm. Of course we'll draft him.
I think the possibility of moving from 12 up to 5-7 and giving up a pair of 3rds and making sure we get one of the top 4 qbs is a more intriguing option by the day. Get Anderson at 2 then get one of Stroud/AR/Levis in that range. Best of both worlds.
Someone on Texans talk said that Lance Zierlein said on 610/790 the Texans are trading for Trey Lance. I don’t know if that’s true or not.
