Well, ok then. I'm just telling you things you do not know.

Check them spreadsheets, and adjust accordingly.

Most pitchers on any given night are going to throw some hittable pitches. Sometimes they get stung and sometimes they end up being cans of corn. Tonight all his mistakes got stung but he fought through it.
I don’t know how effective his fastball will be this year, but he clearly has both of his breaking pitches working exceptionally.

I fully expect Abreu to figure it out in a couple of weeks and have a perfectly reasonable last 3/4 of the season.

Look at his history. This has always been his M.O. the first quarter of the season.

    It hasn't been TRAGICALLY bad.
Hits in 15 of 20 games
On base at least twice 7 of 20
Run or RBI in 9 of 20 games.

But I would love to see them move him down until Brantley and/or Altuve return and the lineup needs to be reset.
    Dubon
    Yordan
    Bregman
    Tucker
    Abreu

Tucker is getting pitched around and leading the team in walks. A proven producer behind him that forces the pitcher to throw strikes to him makes this lineup better and reduces the pressure on Abreu.

I was aware he was expected to begin rehab soon, but was not aware it had been scheduled. But there is no shortage of players not completing rehab.

Would like to see the same lineup today.

But of course Maldy will catch.

If Dubon and Meyers continue to be average ( or better) MLB hitters then the Astros will be very formidable when Altuve and Brantley return.

I would love to see a rotation where Altuve plays 2B vs RHP and DH vs LHP.

    Dubon plays 2B vs LHP.

Brantley DH or LF vs RHP sharing w/ Yordan.

Jake and Chas share CF w/ Chas defensive replacement in LF and backup RF.

Trade Julks when Brantley returns, for an equivalent value inf. Prospect ( less sure further away but higher touted)

Imo, that was a terrible pitch that Yordan hit out. I assume it did not go where the pitcher wanted it to cause it was right over the plate screaming "HIT ME OUT!".

Huh? That was a cutter that would have painted the outside corner, definitely not a mistake.

Pena needs to start taking pointers from Dubon on not striking out so damn much.

With the early start tomorrow, I wonder if Bannon get's a shot at 2B? Dusty usually tries to get players into the line-up shortly after they arrive. And day games always seem to be rest days for regulars. Face it, for the time being, Dubon is our regular 2B.

There are no guarantees but Abreu was very good in Spring Training and was this bad in April last year. Sometimes his swing gets a little flat and that limits homers, but even then he has a lot of doubles, walks and produces. I am not as concerned as everyone else... at least not yet.

The Astros pyth. expected record right now is 12-8. Abreu just missed a homer the other night.... things are okay.

Let's say Yanier keeps improving and Maldy stays at the same level he's at now....Dusty will still give Maldy 75% of the starts no matter what, huh?
