For the first time in NFL history, the Texans will forfeit the pick and send in a card that says “PASS”

Would be a miracle, but I still have a feeling the Panthers want Stroud and have been playing a cat/mouse game with the Texans trying to make them blink and snag extra picks for a trade back to pick 2 and still get Stroud.

I also have a feeling if the Texans cant get Young at pick 2, they trade back and use one of those picks in a deal with the 9ers for Lance.

I want Young but my prediction:

Texans trade to 4. Colts take Stroud. Texans take Richardson.

 

Of course…I said nothing about using a 1st.

But I’m assuming they get an additional 2nd / 3rd or both and use those for Lance.

I think that the Texans want to take Young at 1.2, but that appears to be unlikely.

More likely if Young is drafted 1.1 is to trade down and get 1.4/1.7 and get one or more FRPs in future years. I suspect that one of Anderson/Carter/Wilson will be on the board at 1.7.

The Colts/Raiders should be a complete **** show in 2023, if they start a rookie QB, who the Texans expected to struggle to become an average QB. The Colts/Raiders 2024 FRP should be deep lottery and in the running for Caleb Williams (or whomever is the QB darling next year).

 

I am assuming Young will be gone...so go ahead and draft Wilson. He and Stingley could be an elite combo to build that defense around.

 

Young will be gone and he is who I want, Iam in the camp of trading down for additional pick(s)....Give me Wilson and then
Jaxon Smith-Njigba. If possible trade the 2nd to move up and get Hooker, if he is still on the board, if not let's get some quality skill positions filled. PS, I would not touch Trey Lance, fair or not he has shown nothing to deserve trading for him unless the 49ers want a 3rd, but I am not betting on him

As for me, I just want a quarterback somehow, some way. Doesn't even have to be a rookie. Levis is now the favorite to go number 2. If that's to us, I'm fine with it. If it's a trade down with the Colts, I'm okay with it, as long as we still get a quarterback by the time the first round is over.
