24 years Old 6-6 PF - 38% 3pt shooter career, closer to 40% last two years - 60%+ TS% in the past two years - Probably takes 20m or so to get the Celtics to not match - Good defensive player, but limited offensively - Undersized
He'd be the only physically strong player we'd have who can hit a 3, we have a team full of skinny boys and need some beef
Yeah, I like the fit with him primarily at the 3, playing some minutes at the 4. Would KJ have to get traded in exchange for moving up in the draft or in some other deal, though?
Like him as a role player a lot but we need a PG way more than we need a 3&D forward. We have Jabari and Tari entering season 2 and we have Tate on the roster - a player the Celtics were interested in acquiring to replace Williams. Not sure it would be worth it unless they took KPJ in a SnT. Wouldn't sign him with cap space.
Good replacement for Jae'Sean and his lack of shooting. Hometown kid. Good defender. Familiar with Udoka
I really like him at the 3. He is the perfect 3&D guy. Low usage, doesn’t need the ball, will stand in the corner and hit the open 3, defend 1 to 5 at an elite level. I wouldn’t mind overpaying for him, say a 3y/60m contract, until Tari comes of his rookie contract. A Wemby, Bari, Williams or Bari, Tari, Williams front court has elite defensive potential. May not be as good of a fit with Sengun as he plays below the rim and doesn’t cut as well as Tari or KMJ. Would bring some much needed toughness to our team.
overpaying for this guy would be a mistake. if he wants to come for a reasonable contract i am indifferent.
He should be able to guard 3’s and 4’s very effectively. He’s 6’6” with high level shooting skill from deep. Because of Tari’s ability to play 3 & 4 I don’t think it’s a logjam issue. Tate and KJ can’t shoot; Williams would be an improvement. If he comes at $10 mil less than Cam, the rockets really have to consider Williams.
