No way I trade 12. I’d much rather take Richardson if he falls that far, but probably wouldn’t even do that. Fields improved, but still hasn’t proved he is going to be an NFL level passer or capable of reading a defense. Richardson is already as good a runner which is basically all Fields is.
I hope you are correct about where we will be in two years but I think you are being overly optimistic to think we will be that much better than the Bears. Of course since we will be led by a former great Alabama player, you may be right. LOL
I'm not clamoring for Trey Lance though so not a good retort to me. Why in the world would we trade draft capital for QBs who haven't proven they can play QB in the NFL AND you have half the developmental time with them? When you have 2 top 12 picks? I'm with you, I don't want either one. No thanks.
Duggan just doesn't "pop" when I watch him play. To me the news about the Bears trading Fields is troubling because they might go for B. Young then. And if they do trade Fields I can't see them trading the #1 away, although I guess if they feel Levis or Stroud would fare better in cold, windy Chicago then I COULD see them trading down with us, still allowing them to get QB#2. Actually that might be a really, really good strategy! Trading Fields well before the draft virtually assures they will take a QB at #1. That could REALLY force us to make an exorbitant offer to get Young if he's our guy! Man WHY couldn't we STOP THAT ONE 4th down pass! Grrr! Sigh...
Not a lot here, but I think his point is worth highlighting. Essentially, the Texans are playing their cards close to their vest and that should benefit them in the draft.
Texans ranked 30th in defense in 2022 and 31st in offense. Hard to say one side needs more help than the other.
Texans had the 6th worst run defense in the HISTORY of the NFL last season. Just a reminder for those guys pushing offense with the first two picks. https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/most-rushing-yards-allowed-by-defense-single-season
Are you saying Young is to Carr as Anderson is to Peppers? Since Texans are drafting high both times. Each player should be measured on their own metrics. Btw, I’m all for Anderson is Young isn’t available at 2.
You could probably even argue offense is of more immediate importance given the need to keep the defense off the field. You could easily see how gassed the defense was in the fourth quarter of basically every single game last year.
