Seriously. No bad team would want him so we're forced to deal him to a contender (as we should for forcing him to stay on this team for so long)

it doesn't need to be historic. the clips are in the mix with a ton of other teams in the standings

Yea, you never know how the rest of the season ends up but moving up 10 spots actually has more value than getting another late 1st rd pick.

I actually mentioned this a while back in one of the trade threads as a good option. Is Stone stealing ideas from my posts lol?

Too much money for a bench player ultimately...

Good point when you phrase it that way. Getting another 1st rounder is kinda overrated if the pick isn't that great to begin with. I would rather just condense down and with a better pick rather than stockpile a bunch of crappy 1st rounders. Quality over quantity.

Agreed. I’d value a late FRP at around 8 - 10 spots in this draft. It’s certainly a good draft to move up in IMO.

if the pick stays in that 17-18 range, then I’m cool with this trade all things considered

at least EG is finally gone and we got something of potential decent value in that pick swap

People are also forgetting Ego was drafted by the Clippers so he gets to return I guess.

    Hopefully he has fun.

Plus, Kawhi getting hurt or choosing to load manage again isn't a bad hedge. The Lakers are Warriors can still move up too.

I’m imagining someone picking up trash from the sidewalk and swishing into the trash can from 3

    No joke.

The Clippers are going to be moving up, the NETS will be falling and so will the KINGS and a couple others.

Right now the Clippers are TIED with three other teams, that pick is one win away from being number 21 and a couple of wins from being #23.

It is nice to likely move up 4-5 spots, but that isn't worth much at that part of the draft, look at what the Rockets did moving up 3 spots last year.

There is an outlier chance that Leonard and/or George gets hurt and the pick is in the teens but not likely.

The irony is that the single thing that would most improve our team is a solid veteran PG. But improving this year's team is the LAST thing we want at this point. o_O

yeah not sure where folks are getting the clips are just going to stay where they are. after the moves they made today, they should absolutely have a good finish the rest of the season. And with all the teams jumbled together it won't be hard to move the pick back in the 20s.

Best analysis I’ve seen all year, and you’re competing with Ryan Hollins!
