This morning on the West Coast. You can see the typical winter morning fog in the valleys between the Cascades and the Coast Range as well as the fog drifting up the Columbia River to the east. Should all burn off by noon or so for a nice day across much of the area.
Steady stream of ice and ice pellets falling here in D/FW. I imagine the roads are very treacherous out. It's going to be interesting to see if this complete ice sheet forms on the roads. Not a good day to be out.
It's been an ice skating rink since yesterday here... and will be until Thursday or Friday, I guess. Glad I don't have to go anywhere.
Everything has shut down in Austin since yesterday. Lots of power outages today. Fortunately my house is on a priority grid (never lost power during Uri) so I have power. I'm close to a major roadway and I can hear occasional thuds which I assume are car crashes.
