Şengün is legitimately putting up HOF numbers this month

    I keep seeing just straight comps for raw averages to past eras all over the place and it's so out of context with this inflated stat era of pace and space. Pau was a far superior 2 way player.

    I agree and don't intend to hold him to a standard which if not met means he's fallen short. Clearly HOF is the epitome of excellence and even if he doesn't have a career worthy of being inducted into it - he will at least (and probably already has) exceeded expectations for his draft position.

    That being said - there isn't much to be happy about lately in re Houston rockets basketball. Cart in front of horse n all: Just looking for something to be positive about and keep fans engaged. It's been a difficult year.

    I still believe Şengün has legitimate potential to be in the HOF considering what he is capable of but I will be more than content with solid contribution to winning basketball and a few All star appearances.

    If you believe Şengün a franchise player... Consider the following:

    Houston has had more or less 4 franchise players over the last 3 decades and everyone of them is a HOFer or should be.

    1. Hakeem (HOF)
    2. Harden (surefire first ballot)
    3. Yao (HOF)
    4. Tmac (snubbed but will get in)

    Once again apologies for getting ahead of myself, but the very nature of speculating (future tripping) on what Şengün is capable of is just that - speculation for the sake of conversation and to create engagement and interest during a time when rockets basketball has been its least competitive in 30+ years.

    But he was on one or two so called experts big board top 5/6, so he fell in the Rockets lap with the potential/game of top 5 pick, his off. game is more advanced than Mobley who went 3rd

    Green has Star scoring potential and box office appeal which would make him s star in that sense

    Jabari has a chance to be a star defender with potential of having a star jumper once he gets his confidence up and comes around and out of his personal slump, which seems like next season is the place to mark the calendar for that

    If they reach full potential with upcoming pick they have a chance to be pretty good, TBD

    He has not yet but is expected to bc he has 20000 pts and 10000 rebounds, and was a key player in 2 championships. It has nothing to do with his averages but his accumulative numbers and accomplishments. He was also a 6 time allstar and 4 time all nba not to mentioned he is far more accomplished in international play (ie Olympics) than senguin.

    While I feel you on Sengun, gonna have to disagree regarding Jalen, and maybe Jabari too.

    These straight up PPG/RPG/Apg comparisons across different eras always immediately make you know the person doesn't understand basketball and how the league has developed, it's absolutely baffling to see how many do it here.
