And none of that really matters though. So we don't have a perfectly balanced roster right now, big ****ing deal. Once you set aside the idea that winning is a priority, you should realize that doesn't matter.
that’s honestly what I think. who’s taking our money. This isn’t like the young Harden rockets who were picked to be last in the west with Lin parsons and Asik but ended up winning 45 games and getting the 8th seed. nobody is coming to play on a team with yes hood young talent in green and smith jr. but is going to finish bottem five in the league for a 3rd year. Even if we get the 1st pick and draft Wemby I don’t think that entices any FA besides Harden. harden coming back imo is a Good look for the franchise. Can it guarantee a championship? Hell no. But it will get This young group to the playoffs especially if we could land Wemby and tech then about winning. I’m all for Harden coming Back not only for reasons mentioned above but just the fact that Harden could come back home finish his career here and help the youngsters learn how to compete for the playoffs. Maybe be able to bring another low end allstar also. I’m harden fan I like the players we’ve drafted and I think Harden would really help out bari and green a lot. And hopefully Wemby Also if we are able to draft him.
im pretty sure if true he he's talkign to 1-2 other stars/superstars to bring with him. no way he comes back here alone with our current roster
Not gonna have cap space for 2 max guys. So it'd be by trade. Could be someone like Anthony Davis. But yeah. He's not a leader in the sense of Chris Paul in OKC. He elevates current stars and veterans who needed a re-ignition (Jeff Green, Eric Gordon, Nene, Ryno), but personality wise he's not the guy to mentor 20 year olds.
Unfortunately missed the game. But Im not excited by the win over a bad Bulls team. We’ll see how great this is come draft time.
Iunno about that. Our roster is already pretty loaded with young players. Next year we will have Green, Smith, Sengun and 2023 pick. If we are going big in Free Agency, someone is getting traded or lose minutes and touches.
We will have ton of money to spend next season, and we have to spend it to compete or we just hand a lotto pick to OKC. Even if it's not Harden, who can we realistically drop money for us to win as many games as possible. We saw the list of FA posted, and it sure as hell ain't pretty.
There’s no way this is a leverage attempt like some think. Christmas morning leak while the 76ers are on a winning streak? There’s gotta be truth to this, especially if 76ers flame out again in playoffs. Question if he does come is whether the Rockets a) draft Wemby or Scoot, b) trade the pick if not Wemby or Scoot for an impactful player, or c) sign a player in what feels like a weak FA class. Rockets have assets and flexibility to work with, which is the nice benefit of a rebuild. I assume there will be urgency to win next season regardless with pick heading to OKC
For me, it's not a matter of winning or losing. I wasn't one of the people thinking we could make the play-in to begin with. What I want to see is us putting in development efforts into the areas that count instead of hitching our wagon for yet another year to some half-witted horse hoping he turns into a unicorn.
We need to compete next season as we no longer control our draft picks. If Harden is the best free agent available then sure. He'd certainly make us a much better team in the short term and help further the development of Jalen and Jabari. But, the concern is will he try to exert control on the organization again? How long will he continue to be a top-30 player, will it be enough to allow for a few more years of development? He's past the point where he can win a championship as a #1 guy, if he's willing to accept a CP3 like role then that would be great, but I'm not sure I see that happening.
