Yes. You can never have enough depth and Martinez has options. Also not as big of a hit if Astros need to deal Urquidy for an OF’er.
Yes, I’m ok with that, since it preserves his service time and deepens the overall roster. That said, I wouldn’t expect him to spend much if any time in the minors given he would always be the first call up in the event of an injury to any of the 13 pitchers.
Nope Hate the thought of Benintendi: slap hitter who doesn't run at a run production position. Absolutely no upside.
Come playoff time Brantley will be doing his Uncle Mike things in the lineup. I will speak it into existence.
Brantley = 1 year $10ish million Benintendi = 5 years $75 million ($15 per) Yeah…I’ll take Brantley at that rate.

I'm really hoping Seth Martinez stays an Astros an excels. And not just because he signed my World Series ball at the game
It’s not terrible but I’m also not surprised it was the White Sox and not a more shrewd FO that signed him. Benintendi only really provides a high floor, which might not stick for that long. He reminds me somewhat of Reddick but Reddick could provide more value in the field.
Still one of the top favorites to win it again and REPEAT with the roster as is. And I know we will make an in season move to shore up any weakness for the playoff run.
So are the Astros not gonna do anything until March or whenever the decision is made on Brantley? Bet they have an offer out on Conforto that does not include the player option Conforto is seeking.
