Thunder will ask at least 2 FRP. They didn't let him go cheap this summer. Efes will ask at least $10M (his NBA exit had certain date and already passed). B2B Euroleage champs struggling and giving up Micic is equal to tanking. No one accepts in Europe. If they got 10M+ and signs a superstar that might be the only way to sell this action. Otherwise Eksisozluk/Sourtimes susers (what) will start a boycotting company for Anadolu Endustri Holding (parent company of Efes) and the group will lose not only prestige but also lots of money. Forget about that.
I think he would be a good candidate for an eric gordon trade (nearly equal yearly salaries) - with some risk. We could buy low on him now (maybe get a pick as well) and let him rehab the rest of the year while we let the young guys play/tank for better position. The risk is that there is a decent chance his injury will linger for a while or that he won't make a full recovery. His 4 year - $80mil contract ends in 2024-2025 When/if he gets healthy again, he could be a ball mover and glue guy next to our future floor general.
I would do that. But why would the Bulls want Gordon? They aren't contending. They might as well wait for Ball to heal. Well, maybe they would want Gordon's expiring contract.
Ya if the Bulls are going to trade Ball, it's going to be for draft picks, not over the hill good players who can still somewhat contribute to good teams. That's how you get the Knicks situation of always having mid players as your number 1 and 2 options essentially where the Rockets were right before Harden.
Possibly available now: Sexton, Lowry, Rozier Available in the summer: FVV, Brogdon, Russell, Carter We might be better off developing KPJ and seeing what we have in Ty. vanVleet would make us better but he is likely to stay in Toronto and he is a risk at the max. Brogdon is a good fit with JG but too injury prone. I’d take a bet on Carter but his upside is limited.
Houston in: Caruso / pick(s) x Chicago in: Josh Christopher / Boban / Nix / pick(s) http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2kwe2y89 _________________________________ Caruso: 6'5" Point Guard / Shooting Guard getting about 20 minutes and 3.8 Asts at age 28 Then separate deals on Eric Gordon and Kenyon Martin jr
Sexton definitely isn't a pass first guard. I honestly think he would be a downgrade from KPJ. Ya from looking at who might be valuable it isn't looking great. Not many options that make me think these players are far better floor generals than KPJ. I mean maybe Lowry but that guy has a few years left in the league and way past his prime. A 3 year younger CP3 would honestly have been the best thing for this team.
Indeed, that attainable 8+ assists floor-general is not out there. We might have to look for playmaking in other positions. For example, we could sign Middleton in the summer and have 3 players (Sengun, Middleton, JG) share playmaking duties, surrounded by 3&D wings (2 of Bari,Tari, KMJ), with KPJ leading the bench units. That’s similar to the set-up the Pelicans have this year, with 3 secondary playmakers in BI, Zion, McCollum plus Graham/Alvarado off the bench.
Best and cheapest available is Vasilije Micic of Serbia. Draft rights should be in OKC. Deal with OKC, pay around 25/3 years, job done
Offer Memphis a deal they can’t refuse for Tyus Jones. he’s a starting caliber point guard. Get er done Stone.
Killian Hayes has turned the corner. I don't know if Nix ever will or if TyTy has his ceiling. Also, we could trade for a backup like Clarkson or Devonte Graham This summer Fred Vanvleet and Harden are available
If the Rockets somehow got the #1 pick then you go after FVV and probably be a playoff team next year.
I just want to get TyTy some burn at this point. Yeah it's definitely going to be worse at first, but it's worth looking into rather then continuing this dead end project with KPJ trying to playmake.
