There are a lot of famous people that are labeled as good people - many of them away from the limelight are not great people. What I can about Paul Silas is that I have never heard a negative story about him from anyone that knew him or was around him. Paul Silas was married once, to his same wife for 50 years.... the police was never called to this home, there was no known abuse or claims of abuse. Silas and his wife had two children that are by all accounts successful and well adjusted... and I know that he spoke to his son several times a week for hours at a time, and supposedly was close to his daughter as well. His kids are well educated and have stable families of their own. Silas and his wife both were deeply involved in separate charities and they were known as very kind. It seems like Paul Silas lived his life the way we all would want.
Stephen Silas the man and Stephen Silas the coach are not the same thing. I have never heard a negative thing about Paul Silas or Stephen Silas as human beings.... they both appear to be exceptional people that were very loving and good to the people around them.
You’re a douche bag. There are 11 threads dedicated to his coaching, and you felt it necessary to qualify your condolences with an insult on his coaching abilities? Seriously. **** you.
I listened to SiriusXM's NBA channel and heard Lebron and Rod Thorn saying all kinds of great things about Mr. Silas and how much he meant to them and the impact he had on them. Amin Elhassan was telling the story about somebody (can't remember who) once getting texts or calls from Silas wishing him a happy birthday and thinking "I don't even know how or why he knew it was my birthday". NBA Twitter's littered with comments about how great a guy he was today. One thing they all pretty much said, though, was that on the court the man was not to be messed with or crossed -- he was a beast, but off the court, there wasn't anyone kinder -- it was like he was 2 different people. lol. Lebron starts talking him at 0:50 of this tweet : I had completely forgotten about his exchange with Eric Snow and him trying to shut a reporter up with the comment "am I speaking Chinese?!" LOL
Shoutout to Monty Williams for how he interacted with Silas post-game. Terrible loss be damned, he cared more about Silas’s well-being above all else. IIRC, he was also there for Ryan Anderson when tragedy struck his life as well. Monty without a doubt has my respect.
