    With the Laker trade and in flux of small forwards and payton disgruntled could we get Caron Bulter and Payton for our trade expection and parts so Lakers could get a Dampier or another Center

    If they sign Kobe, theyll be so far over the cap that our TE would not help them.

    And I doubt they would let a player like Butler go just for cap space.

    Exactly. They couldn't create cap space ... so they wouldn't give up assets that could be used to acquire players.

    even though i think greed will supercede Kobe 's decision i have a feeling he may leave for the clippers

    Even though I think he will want to move forward with his career and leave the Lakers, I think he will stay for the extra money.

    I would think the Lakers would rather take a trade exception for Payton than to buy him out.
