Ryan Hollins sucks.

Some complained about Bullard being repetitive. What is Hollins?

No one will ever be as bad as Clyde, but Ryan is on the low end for sure. He doesn't offer much insight and has very few anecdotes considering how many stops he made. Just a lot of rah-rah and boomshakalaka. He's what you would get if an AI listened to 10,000 hours of Dick Vitale and then created a generic analyst for 2K.

 

The phrase is only $20

Nice try Tilman, but we know nothing is under 20 in the Rockets shop.

He's very, very obnoxious when he gets excited. Any chance to say BABYYY and use that high pitched squirrel like voice of his. Wish I could enjoy him more, but I just cannot. Cannot wait for him to leave.

I’m not a huge fan, yet it’s great when he slips in his occasional X’s and O’s talk. Rare for announcers to name the action/play, but he does it subtlety during play, so it’s easy to miss. Gotta stay alert if you appreciate BBall terminology like me.

Wish he’d do it more, and actually as analysis during replays. Definitely better than Clyde, Bullard and Calvin when he shares tidbits of knowledge, but his forced excitement, hyper talk is hard to listen too.

 

I would enjoy hollins yelling 'barbeque chickens' for 100 times

Hollins is not someone I want to hear on my TV. If only Calvin was allowed to come back...

Nothing stands out to me.. He's so damn corny.. kinda like what Russell Wilson would sound like doing football games..

 

unfortunately Calvin can barely string together two coherent sentences. Have you been watching his halftime commentary? Definitely not the same Calvin. Father Time has caught up.

Believe me I was a huge Calvin supporter and hated that Les essentially exiled him. But we’re two decades too late at this point.

it would be good if they could find someone that had at least some sort of affiliation with Houston or the rockets.

 

The best is when he announces the special at the Rockets shop. It's horrible...
