We are the better team. We’re better pitching and hitting but the better team doesn’t win every single game.
Talked to a knowledgeable PHI fan at the game. He said that wheeler took a come backer in the leg in the SD series and that could be why his velo is down. Major story line if wheeler isn’t his usual self. Those two ticks in velo are unbelievably big
So why would you want the option that provides the least flexibility? You're claiming Junior will end up in traction in the hospital if he dare tries to come in relief in game 7 after pitching game 4. You do realize he's not that restricted anymore? But besides all that foolishness, I ask again, why would you want the option that provides the "alleged/perceived" least flexibility?
Yep. But here we are tied at 1-1 with a huge advantage in pitching moving forward. Just need the Astros to keep pitching. Bullpen has been great thus far and it looks like they have a good game plan against the top of that order.
Judging by his season. He had two IL stints with elbow and shoulder issues. Velo issues can be lower half relegated, but with his past history and lack of movement on his heater. Thats a bigger sign of an attempt of compensation via arm angle to avoid some pain. My money would guess elbow issue. Pretty staggering drop off from the guy pumping 98-99mph in higher leverage spots.
Woke up this morning to seeing articles about Framber possibly cheating because he changed a glove and was wiping his brow consistently or something. Bunch of bullsh*t that I guess gets to follow the Astros around forever. I think even the Philly players and manager were talking about it post-game albeit I didn't watch it so not sure. I thought I read they were asked about it.
Agree we need to reevaluate our DH situation. Losing Brantley really hurt us. I would look into using Vazquez as DH. I feel more comfortable with him at the plate instead of Diaz, Mancini, or anyone left.
Sorry to tell you but JV's average fastball this season was 95 mph. Y'all reading way too much into this. His slider and his pitch location was horrible in those 2 innings.
Knowing what happened, sure. Without hindsight, I have no idea. People were calling for JV to be pulled early against the Yankees too. He could just as easily have had a bad inning and gone back to being dominant and gone 7 innings giving up the 3 runs and not letting Philly hitters see basically every one of our elite bullpen pitchers. Scott and Segura saw Montero in game 1. In game 2, they saw him again and got a sac fly and a 12 pitch walk.
Interesting because he was calling balls a few inches below the zone strikes. Guess Fox's White Box is nothing to really get worked up about. Great job Ump. Felt like a pretty fair ball game last night.
Phillies manager not concerned. Not sure if it was in the article but he also said he saw Valdez do the exact thing in the regular season against them so it's not like Valdez was doing something new. Also has Valdez's response to the accusations. https://www.tsn.ca/philadelphia-phillies-houston-astros-framber-valdez-odd-hand-rubbing-1.1870620
While driving, the 790 guys were praising this guy nonstop right before the game. And I believe he's pretty young too. Better eyesight with young age? lol
Not sure if it was mentioned but Syndergaard gets game 3 and Suarez gets game 4. Both potentially a bullpen game. Bullpen has pitched well against Houston so far so maybe it's not a good thing lol
