    Hey now.

The term "crafty lefthander" was coined based on Knep.

    Check the history, MadMax:

In 1997, it was the 1st time in 11 years they made the playoffs. They haven't got past the 1st round since 1986. In the proceeding 10 years, they went to the championship series twice. More progress there than the past 10-15 years.

They've never got past the first round.

I'll take the last ten years of competeting and four playoff experiences over any other part of our history, honestly.

    According to this:

They reached the Championship Series twice.

    What?

Dude, if you look on that list, those are the NL Championship Series. If you look at last year's, it shows Florida beating Chicago to get to the World Series. So, even thought the wild card wasn't invented then, they did go as far as the League Championship Series before the World Series.

There is still no difference between what they did in 86 and what they did in 97-00.

They won their division. They went to the playoffs and lost.

They haven't won a playoff series before 1997 and tey haven't won a playoff series after 1997.

The Astros have never won a playoff series. That's the entire point.

    Exactly.

Since the wild card was implemented in 1995, there is no difference between a NLCS pre 1995 and a NLDS post 1995 IMO.
