It was VERY obvious from the get go that JV didn't have it. His FB had NO movement and he couldn't throw his curve ball consistently for strikes even. Knowing this SEA was sitting on his FB. Why not throw in a slider??? This team is all about analytics. Any other pitcher would've been yanked. But hey Dusty, let's keep rolling with JV. They cut the lead from 4-0 to 4-2 and the very next inning he gives up two more runs. WHY WAS HE STILL IN THERE?? So many great things about this game. Yordan with FIVE rbis. Breggy with a huge two run HR. Yuli 3 for 4. Pena, who can NOT hit a slider, down 0-2 8n the count, comes up with a HUGE hit (off a slider) to keep the inning alive. Bullpen for the most part was awesome. Only thing that SUCKED was JV!! It's not hard to tell if a pitcher has his $h!t!! WAKE THE F UP DUSTY!!
I'm seeing plenty of reactions at the Minute Maid but I really want to see reactions at the Mariners watch party at their stadium.
Ray gave the obligatory turn and look out of respect but he knew off the bat he missed and the ball was now in orbit
If you look closely, the Mariners formed a butt-hole like formation which was penetrated raw by Yordan.
For all those who wanted to throw Yuli' out with the trash, you can join me eating my dinner. I'll leave a leg for you.
The amount of enjoyment I had watching Scott Servais's reactions and interviews cannot really be measured. This ain't over yet, but for one game, one glorious game, it was perfect.
I had to go to a meeting during the seventh inning. I just turned on my computer. I am in shock. In a good way. I have been thinking for hours; O.K., they blew the first game, Verlander sucked, and the hitters just couldn't put enough runs together, etc. WRONG!
