He redeemed himself by striking out the next three and gave up no runs. They should pat him on the ass.
He came back and struck out 3 in a row. He's been an All-Star closer in the pretty recent past...including for the current defending champs. What doesn't he have? I'm not saying he's a lock for the roster but let's not get so emotional about giving up some hits. Maybe some credit for not melting down in that moment and blowing the shutout? How many other guys would've given up 2 or 3 in that moment?
I tend to agree. It was a nice to have but the guys probably aren’t too concerned if at all. Click better lose Smith somewhere and make sure he’s not on any roster or what we just saw will occur. Dusty loves him some lefty vs lefty
I thought he did well to retire the next three but I’m taking a kid with a lot more going on then a situational lefty that may or may not be improving.
I'm not necessarily disagreeing...but I think it's a tougher decision than you think. Again, he was the closer for the current defending champions. Way way way off topic...is anyone else weirded out by these Car Shield commercials on ATTSW?
From this game? Yes. Obviously I have other questions like how Framber's gonna look tomorrow after 2 bad starts in a row.
Lol, Tuve gets to 300, Tucker gets to 30, Pena has another good game, Verlander and Brown dominate and we win 10-0. All you see are complaints about our last reliever.
Fine Dusty.... don't get the no-hitter for the fans, don't do it for the headlines, don't do it for game #161, don't do it for the offense that put up 10 runs. Fine. At least do it to solidify JV's Cy Young season and an upcoming stud Hunter Brown breakout stint in the majors. They put on a show and you effed with it.
A no-hitter tonight probably would have been mocked more than praised. Philadelphia had their hangover lineup out there.
