I agree, the jersey themselves and the fact that we are paying homage to the San Diego Rockets are all cool

But WTF is up with this shorts?!?

 

Are they splitting time between the two cities? Why put San Diego on our uniforms? Not comfortable with this. Maybe a new source of income for the owners if they can build a hybrid system of 2 cities as the home team. Our lower bowl always looks empty…. Never seen a double jersey like that.

 

I love it! UH's Elvin Hayes brought me to the San Diego Rockets, in a manner of speaking. Elvin was picked first in his draft by a team I'd never heard of and then had a mind blowing Rookie of the Year performance at center, playing all 82 games while averaging 45 MPG and racking up 28 points with 17 boards. Heck, and the team was loaded with talent besides Hayes. Crazy. Sure, the colors might look freaky, but so what? Those colors ended up bringing the Rockets to Houston, something I couldn't believe at the time.

History indeed!

The shorts are actually what I find most interesting. Doesn't fit the Rockets brand, but the jersey itself is way too bland. Certainly a strange change just on the shorts, but it does seem to add some balance and uniqueness.

I wish we wouldn't refer to it as "gold". Yes I guess the original color for the Rockets was technically "desert gold" but yellow is yellow.

What I don't get is the uniforms don't appear to match with the yellow tease from the day before. Would be good to get a better look at the shorts, but the material and striping appears to be different. Which is just odd.

 

I like everything except the shorts. Logo looks cool too.

 

Can we just go back to the ketchup and mustard color and keep it that way? Lol

 

I am right there with ya! Now all I need is Gordon to be traded so Jabari can claim #10 and then get the anniversary pinstripes. Put them together = 14 in honour of the mayor Gerald Green

 

Just want to point out it will only be worn 6 times, ridiculously low, and not even versus any teams with hot classics like the Suns & Pistons ‍♂️

Not a fan. Really never liked the blue pinstripes either. I do like the black and gray, but that's just my taste. Likely a marketing study said we can sell these in both Houston and San Diego, hell maybe even China.

 

Much better than the pajama pinstripes garbage.

 

Yeah, I dig the jersey, but the shorts are pretty strange, and not in a good way.
