Man I hate that the Dodgers added Gallo, he's a spectacular buy low candidate. I think getting out of the Bronx will help a ton

Because his BA is so damn ugly people forget he was very productive in terms of runs and OBP the past 3 seasons in addition to the HR's and plus defense. Wouldn't want to count on him, but for a bottom of the order bat I think he could be great for them...hope I'm wrong.

And now Odo is gone, as I've said no guarantee JV comes back next yr, jury still out on LMJ, so you good with potentially having Framber, Garcia and Javier as your rotation next yr (since you traded off Urquidy because we needed a CF)?

You obviously are but I'm definitely not!! Not until I know for sure on LMJ am I getting rid of a good young pitcher who's been d@mn good as of late, has been good in the playoffs and WS, and we control him for not one, not two, but for THREE more yrs.

The Astros are going to need to pay a number of players more and have holes to fill as well.

Why would the Astros have any interest in Hosmer? Why would they want to lose the liquidity of potentially being closer to or over the tax?

Why would the Astros want to trade Neris? He had a 2.60 FIP and a sub 1 WHIP and is the type of arm they want in the playoffs.

LMJ is signed for the next few years, no need to get worked up over his health. There’s a reason they are taking it slow with him.

That’s 4 starters, not counting Hunter Brown. If Verlander leaves, the team will make a move. Astros have proven their ability to lose starters and be more than ok. Verlander didn’t even play last year and still made a WS appearance.

I trust the Astros to make that decision and Odo was gone next season anyway. If Verlander doesn't come back the Astros have a pile of cash to add another starter.

Dusty said on the radio that he was hoping for an additional move for a CF. He doesn't want to play Tucker in CF.

LOL San Diego not only lost 90% of their best prospects in the deal for a player that is a free agent in two years.... but they end up being stuck paying 40 million dollars to the Red Sox to complete the deal and move off Hosmer.

    The Padres now have.......

    Machado 10/300
    Tatis 14/340
    Musgrove 5/100
    Soto 12/550?

They were a 66-win team before they started calling up prospects or trading prospects for players. They will likely win 90+ games this year despite losing a lot of trades like the one with France as the 2nd or 3rd guy (prior to Musgrove and Soto deals) and bad free agent signings like Hosmer. I tend to think highly of farm systems that provide the bulk of the value in changing a team's win total by 30+ wins either through calling them up to using them in trades.

Because Neris makes almost 10 million and would likely be the 5th best bullpen arm.

You would take Hosmer to avoid dealing someone like Hunter Brown for a centerfielder. Keeping more of your prospects helps keep payroll down in the future.

They have guys to pay... they have money to do it already.

They saved 50 million on Correa and Springer for that reason.

There's plenty of fat on the roster...

    Neris 8
    Smith 13
    Diaz 4.5
    Maldonado 5.0
    Vazquez 7.0
    Mancini 7.5
    Gurriel 8.0

There's 53 million for a starting catcher and starting first baseman who are free agents before 2024 season. Lee is backup catcher and you have 16 million from Brantley to find a leftfielder.

Neris and Smith are replaceable in an offseason...
