Thybulle and a pick is significantly better than anything LA can offer lol. I would assume the hold up is a 3rd team to pawn the Kokmaz, Milton, Niang etc contracts off on.
An unprotected or lightly-protected 1st round 2027, 2028, or 2029 pick from the Lakers would be very appealing. Enough to take back Taylor Horton Tucker? Two yrs $10 mil per left on his deal. Maybe they throw in a second round pick from one of those yrs too? I’d probably be willing to pull the trigger on that. That would be a valuable asset.

If Morey doesnt get him, EG will most likely play out his contract w a clean break with the rockets, because we will definitely not pickup that last year. I believe the FO saying that he is good for the youngins and another year of guiding jalen to the ways of an NBA 2guard surely wouldnt hurt.
I’d like to see something with the 76ers, Mavs, and Kings where Tobias Harris goes to the Mavs, Gordon to the 76ers, Thybulle+ pieces go to the Kings, and the Rockets end up with Harrison Barnes + a backup center like Alex Len Sengun/ Boban/Len/ Garuba Smith/ Tate Barnes/ Eason Green/ Christopher / Matthews KPJ/ TyTy/ Nix
Ayton and Sengun are 2 vastly different players. Would be great being able to switch up the game plan in games and have multiple options to change to if needed. Only problem with Sengun is he isn't overly athletic and it catches him out sometimes
Ayton is a decent player, but he wants close to Max and he really isn’t a great fit for us. Rumor has it that Indy is going to make him an offer. If that is the case, he will end up there or back at Phoenix if they match. If he signs the offer, that takes him out of the Durant sweepstakes until Dec. I think. I don’t think the Rockets are interested any way.
They are but usually when you pay a guy close to max you're not talking about which matchups to use him in. What if he gets suspended again for PEDs? I would roll the dice if I didn't think the cap space would otherwise be used... feel similar about Ben Simmons if we're not giving up draft assets...
To be fair, he wasn’t suspended for using PEDs. He was suspended for using a diuretic that could be used as a making agent.
• Eric Gordon, the subject of repeated interest around the league, was close to being traded on draft night, with the Philadelphia 76ers presumed to be the landing spot before talks ultimately fell apart, The Athletic was told. But in addition to the 76ers, the Rockets received offers from no less than six teams before the draft, including the Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns, who offered packages including first-round picks. Houston turned all of those down. Sources told The Athletic Philadelphia re-engaged with Houston at the beginning of free agency regarding the former Sixth Man of the Year. The Rockets are not desperate to offload Gordon, certainly not as desperate as some contenders are to obtain him in what looks like a standard championship-hopeful rental. Given the ho-hum nature of this summer’s free-agent dealings, there’s a possibility that a team that strikes out in free agency circles back with an improved offer for Gordon. Houston may re-evaluate offers around the upcoming trade deadline, but assuming no team presents an offer deemed acceptable before then, the Rockets are more than pleased to have him on the roster heading into camp and the regular season.
Myles Turner should be Rockets trade target. Pacers took first rounder big last season (Isaiah Jackson) and just re-signed poor man's Christian Wood in Jalen Smith. Myles Turner would be perfect fit in Silas 5 out system, elite rim protector and fit with Sengun. There is an opportunity here.
If Miami offered us their Jovic pick and we turned it down then Stone would have made a HUGE mistake.
Bet it was more about Stone not wanting any contracts coming back that extend past this year just like in the Wood trade
