neither will win mvp. but team mvp will be yao. yao is the anchor of the defense. without yao, theres no t-mac.
Here is my projected stats for Yao and T-Mac: Yao Ming: 21 ppg, 10 rpg, 2 apg, 52% fgp 2 bpg T-Mac: 27 ppg, 6 apg, 5 rpg, 45% fgp 1.4 spg Our record will be somewhere near 56-26. Now, do we have a MVP?
yao ming is not MVP caliber yet... it's gonna take a couple more years. so if we get an mvp at all... it will be TMac.
Last year: Mobley: #6 in 3 point made #23 in 3 point fg% T-Mac: #4 in 3 point made #65 in 3 point fg% And...: BBarry: #29 in 3 point made #2 in 3 point fg% Yup, I guess Barry does make a difference.
You kiddin'? Barring injury and jail, if Kobe's by himself and the Lakers have a winning season... well, it's already rigged. Besides that, maybe KG again, or Shaq (if he ships out)... or maybe someone in, oh, I don't know.... A Magic Uniform.
Yao isn't an MVP calibre player yet, but he should be an MVP candidate next year as long as we have a good season, like Jermaine O'Neal and Peja were. Projected stats for Yao: 20.3ppg, 11.6rpg, 2.2bpg, 2.8apg, .522 FG%, .802 FT% The points, rebounds, and blocks were what Yao averaged last season in games that he played 35+ minutes in. I'm hoping Yao will be able to bring up his average to about 35mpg. Assists were what Yao averaged in those games +1... T-Mac should make a difference. Shooting percentages the same as last year. Those are solid numbers for an all-star center, and I would be disappointed if Yao didn't average something in that range.
