I think the best option is if you can trade the 17th pick and wood for a future asset. Go into next offseason with that asset bucks pick and your own (perhaps pick 6-11) and try to move up to a 4-8ish pick next season.

You have actual data to see how well Sengun and Paolo play with each other. Perhaps another player that comes out to solidify themselves like Jabari Smith and you can add what would be a perfect compliment to a Paolo and Green led team. Sign or trade for a FA the following year you should and very exciting team with Green going into his 3rd year.

    2023 top 8 pick
    Green
    Paolo
    2023 free agent
    Christopher
    Garuba
    (Maybe Sengun)

First, none of the guys on our roster should be considered win now. They've been straight up losers.

Second, that means the Kings should have absolutely no interest.

Third, I would gladly trade the entire roster except for Green for the pick if the Kings are that dumb. They can't be.

Fourth, Expecting both picks to be studs is a little far fetched. It could happen. It probably would not. But it is a good move regardless to try it. We can't go any lower and have nothing to lose. But again, the Kings literally get nothing in this deal.

if a Jaden-Jalen-Paolo trio is insanity
then a Jaden-Jalen-Sengun trio is greater insanity.

wake up. Paolo does not have a single skill that Sengun isn't better at. Sengun has skills that Paolo doesn't. And a much higher revving motor.

If OKC doesn't take Jaden at 2, then we need to take him at 3 and try to trade 17, Wood, EGo, Tate for #4 or #5 or #6 or #7.
If OKC takes Jaden at 2, then we get our guy, Chet at #3. And then we can look at trade ups for a guy like AJG or trade outs of salary for another 2023 pick...and cap space.

OKC does want Ivey at 4. They are willing to give up SGA for him. The deal makes too much sense for both teams if Ivey there at 4. But if Ivey is gone, it doesn't make sense for OKC to draft both Chet and trade up to 4 for Paolo. Sacramento will likely be able to trade #4 (Paolo) for Grant and #5 or for 5 and 7 with 4 going to Detroit and Grant going to Portland.

Stone is playing this right. Don't be surprised if either Jaden or Chet is a Rocket on draft night. And don't be surprised if Paolo is traded for a ton of cap space, and several current and future draft pick assets.

That's just describing a lesser version of KPJ-Jalen-Paolo

I don't agree with that statement at all. We lack a star but Green really started showing he'll be that guy in the future. Paolo has star power written all over him. Sengun, Porter, Christopher, Martin, Garuba, Nix these are all guys with talent and untapped potential. You're talking about half the roster here, all guys I think most expect to play, contribute and improve.

Side note but I'm not interested in the quick fix of free agency. I'm not interested in living and dying on the next trade or buyout again. I'm interested in brewing a team from scratch like recent champions seem to have done. Their stars are core/drafted guys that were bolstered with shrewd free agency moves. I don't necessarily think that means we have to boldly tank year after year. Green and Banchero are definitely potential stars. Start adding later lottery picks to that, to the other young guys...let's see where it goes.

The more I watch Ivey more he reminds me of young Russ.

Kid is fearless, fast and physical as heck.

But with a better 3ball. Not a great 3ball but better.

And FYI - Russ was actually the better defender in college.

Yeah who mentioned anything about getting rid of Porter?

I'm just saying Ivey isnt known for defense and his defense def wasnt elite in college.

Well certainly you wouldn't be able to "get rid of Porter" if you wasted the pick on Ivey....someone still has to run the point and Ivey sure as hell can't do that and Green isn't there yet.

You'd basically be making the defense worse though by picking someone who isn't a solid defender who would have to be slotted in at the PG despite a lack of PG skills due to his height while moving a superior defender out of the PG spot defensively and forcing them into harder matchups with SF's.

There's absolutely no sense behind actually picking up a 6'4 SG without PG skills at #3 when you already have a better, taller version of that on the team AND a better, taller combo guard version of that on the team. It's based entirely on either Rockets disinformation or a weird fetish for athletic SG's by a group of fans.

Some thoughts based on what was posted:

For the King's 4th they would want someone (likely singular), who's really good instead of many mid pieces (Wood, Tate, 17th... Gordon).

Our many mid pieces might be more suited for Portland's 7th, since they gutted their roster, have a few spots open. Even then there's teams like Detroit who can offer them someone like a Jerami Grant for that 7th.

On the win now, Kings could just keep their 4th to get Keegan Murray who is more win now and will be on a cheap rookie deal.

If Presti really wanted Ivey, he wouldn't just pick Ivey at #2, he'd explore trading down with Kings to get something + Ivey.

The only things that Rockets could sway Kings for that 4th is throwing in a combination of JC/Sengun and unprotected future pick, which most here would say is too much.

Or trade our 3rd for their 4th + some goodies, but the premise of this thread is we're keeping the 3rd.

From what I’ve seen from Ivey I wouldn’t do it personally, if so concerned with Banchero defence what does everyone think about Iveys..

Maybe use 17 and other assets to move up to get Duren or Williams.

I think a Wood + Several future picks and removing trash contracts off their roster would get it done but not worth it for the Rockets.

A Jalen-Jaden-Paolo trio would need some solid 3&D guys to fill up the defensive holes.

Since we're being ridiculous, why not give up Green plus the #3 and #17 picks plus all of the Nets picks for #4?

    Why not go all out?

I just want to commend Bobbythegreat. I am truly in awe of the lengths you will go. Most of us wouldn't be able to spew the same tired takes over and over and over again. But this is the gospel and we all must understand this. It takes a true troll dedicated to his craft to pull off his never ending Jalen Green tirade last year. I think Paolo is the right pick. But I really like Ivey too. But like most people I don't know how the future will play out and who will become the better player but thank god bobby knows. If we get Ivey we are in for one hell of a year from clutchfans legend BTG!
