I know the common thing to do is to blame Harden and/or Doc, and rightfully so, but Embiid needs to chill out with his postgame comments. Not only do you throw Simmons and Harden under the bus, but you also sing the praises of Seth Curry, Andre Drummond and Jimmy Butler? Not sure if the reporter(s) are leading him with these questions, but Embiid needs to learn to keep it vague. Maybe not on the levels of "I know what we need to do" vague, but something pretty close. To me, it looks more and more like Embiid is a frontrunner. Happy when he is winning but downright salty and blames everyone else, when he's losing.
Definitely souring me on Embiid. That being said, the Sixers aren't going to winning anytime soon with Doc and this version of Harden.
Torn ligaments in his shooting thumb is an impactful injury. And then you add the facial injury? Yeah, he definitely gets a pass.
Yeah, he gets a pass, just like Harden gets a pass for his hammy, last postseason. Still, doesn't excuse him from being salty, especially since he was injured. His postgame comments / exit interview should have just been "If I was healthy, we would have been more competitive this series...now with this offseason, the team and I will refocus, regroup and come back stronger for next year." His actual comments not only affect the players currently on his team, but potential teammates as well. If I was a player, would I really want to be on a team that might extend Harden / has extended Harden AND has a star player who might throw me under the bus if he doesn't like my play?
“I've played with guys who are really good but when they get in those big moments, they shy away and they don't really want it.” "When it gets to clutch time, fourth quarter, some people are built for it, some people shy away from it," Paul told TNT's Jared Greenberg after the game. "Some people are built for it, man, and we're just gonna keep hoopin'."
I agree. All this "process" and look at them now. "If the rule you followed led you to here... of what good was the rule."
I don't have a problem with what Embiid said last year OR this year (after the playoff losses). If people read or listen to the entire interview. Embiid criticizes or points out faults in himself as well. He's not assigning blame to just one individual or play or throwing anyone under the bus. Instead he's being objective while taking responsibility. It's not Embiids fault if certain players or fans are too soft to not get offended by these mild observation.
What are you guys talking about? Harden clearly has heart and dog in him. He even said so himself! Maybe he was talking about PJ Tucker. Yeah…. That’s gotta be it cause he sure as hell ain’t talking about himself. Either way listening to Harden say that again.
he never advanced pass the 2nd round in his entire career despite always being on teams stacked with talent and stars, had great homecourt and had favorable refs treatment...but hes great at PR and hes embodiment of the tanking philosophy so people avoid criticizing him
