Deshaun was responsible for that too. Remember that after he was promised say in the GM search from Calhoun, they asked Russell if he would like say and it all snowballed from there. Holy f is correct.
Maybe the Seahawks will swing those picks to another team to get another QB? At this point, DW4 is radioactive, so likely won't be him. Too bad.

What has Wilson done over the past few seasons that makes anyone think Denver actually got a good deal? Rhetorical and serious question.
The general consensus in the NFL is that a perennial top 10 QB is worth nearly any amount of ransom because they are so rare and sustained success without one is extremely difficult. I think there is an uncomfortably large chance that Wilson is about to hit his "McNabb in Washington" years, but if I'm the Broncos I'm ecstatic for now.
There have been moments in the past couple of seasons where "Let Russ cook" yielded some of the best offenses in the league. Of course it's not hard when you have a Metcalf/Lockett combination as your receivers but you still need a good QB to get the ball downfield. The counterpoint, based on what I've seen, is that you can't rely on letting Russ cook over the course of the full season because Wilson tends to hold onto the ball a bit longer just to get that boom-or-bust play to Metcalf or Lockett. He's a fantastic QB by any metric and, if you give him the necessary needs like protection from the O-Line and good receivers, he is capable of taking a team to the Super Bowl. Jeudy is going to have a field day in Denver next season.
The simpler answer is Denver had a ceiling and no way to resolve it. They were never going to be much beyond an 8-8 team until they got an elite QB and drafting one and waiting 3-4 years is not ideal because their defense would likely have declined over that time. Now they have no ceiling. Is their floor lower? Maybe. But I doubt they care about 8-8 vs 4-12.
Yall forgot how Pete Carroll's Seahawks CAME TO BE. The life hack. Find a good QB that doesn't cost a fortune. Spend money on everything else. They'll be aight.
