Bounce catch between the legs twice and dunk it. Vince did this with stitches in his hands in the 2000 dunk contest. Well, except for the between the legs twice part but still, did Jalen not do any prep work before? Like all of its on YouTube. All you gotta do is watch the old clips and tweak it a little. Simple, if he did his homework.

I think players should start dunking on people

Jalen should have brought out Brandon Knight to contest his dunks and gone to work

How about a teamate giving the dunker a boost when jumping? That will open a whole realm of new possibilities!

They need to change up this event radically or just retire it.

Honestly, the art of dunking is hard, nowadays. Seriously.

You have to be creative, else you get accused of recycling dunks from a past contest. You can't do one that's too easy, since that results in low points and criticisms of how you're not hitting your potential. You also can't do one that's too hard, since that results in you attempting the same dunk over and over again, which leads to fatigue for both the player and judge.

They should put in a rule that the first round dunks have to be standard dunks. No props, no assists, no self-lobs.

People refuse to appreciate the greatness of Lavine/Gordon or Carter. Instead they turned that into an expectation. New dunks every year? How many combinations are there??

You wonder why Lebron or KD or any other great will never do it?

maybe they can add a fire pit and 100 swords pointing at the dunker. then have fan favorites dunk like donkey, morris twins, pbev. hell they can even bring out retired fan favorites like bruce bowen, malone, quitten

Make them do their dunks with another guy (Giannis or LeBron) chasing them down for a block. Might not result in many succesful dunks, but it would be quality entertainment.

Invite the dunk king contestants vs NBA players. Make it a team event with a individual mvp dunk winner.

A contestant bringing in a shark tank and dunking over it would be a fitting way to end of the dunk contest for good.
