By the way it's not really surprising that Jalen has struggled more in the past two games. Warriors and Jazz both play very disciplined paint defense, Green cannot get away from just out quicking the first line of defense and just chuck it up at the rim. Hell even Eric Gordon was having trouble last night with some of his drives.

Against crappier defense, Jalen will find some weak spots using his speed, but against top notch teams, that ain't happening. The dilemma is that if he doesn't drive it's not good either because he doesn't offer much else on offense, his 3 pointer also seems to be affected by his lack of success at the rim. I don't really know what the answer is.

Send this clown to the G League, we’re just making him entitled by having him out there starting against one of the best teams in the league while he’s shooting 0% from the field while 6 other guys sit and watch on the bench.

The Rockets perform better when Jalen's on the bench. I think now's the time to put Garrison Mathews in the starting lineup and have Jalen come in with the second unit.

Until the trade deadline I think the starting lineup should be:
    KPJ (PG)
    Eric Gordon (SG)
    Garrison Mathews (SF)
    Jae'Sean Tate (PF)
    Christian Wood (C)

    Second Unit:
    Josh Christopher (PG)
    Jalen Green (SG)
    Armoni Brooks (SF)
    KJ Martin (PF)
    Alperen Sengun (C)

I’m not comparing him to Klay Thompson, but in terms of I guess impact on a team, I see him more of a Klay than ever being Curry as his long term roll to the team. Just a pure scorer

Terrible comparison but y’all know what I mean

He really should be running off screens like Klay, though. Nobody would be able to keep up. Silas will never figure that out though

Yep. Additionally my man is going to have learn where his sweet spots are on the floor. All great scorers have them. Those areas that they get to and are automatic from and 99% of the time it’s a mid range shot. Added strength and a reliable mid range pull up will make him unguardable with his quickness. Until then he’s going to be a roller coaster with his consistency.

Step backs & three point attempts are fine but he’s going to need a “Go-to “area on the floor and develop a counter move to it to be the scorer that he wants to be.

A mid range shot ( from the greatest 3 pt shooter the game has ever seen) sent you home with a loss last night.

he needs major skill development work…gotta add some Euro steps, spin moves, hesi, something other than straight line drive to the rim and toss something up as well as continuing to work on his shot and get stronger

It's like the stock market. It is in the dumpster lately. But long term, there is always hope.

It is very rare all top 3 picks in a draft all pan out, so we are in disadvantage statistically speaking :)
He still have some obvious talent and it is hard to imagine he will be a complete bust in the future. I say just give him 20 minutes a game and re-evaluate in 2 years. We have a lot of other young players to develop as well.

Exactly. It’s a mental thing. He has to have a plan and counters to boot. Unfortunately, for us that is going to take time. The game is going to have to slow down some more for him for that to happen. It will happen. Sometimes it looks like he’s just running around out there. He has to learn to eat, train, & think like an elite NBA scorer.

Christopher is our backup PG now, so I rather him coming off the bench.

In High school you can get away with it, not in the NBA.

holiday that cant even shoot middy at good % won the finals series by going full MJ midrange fadeawys on the suns...not sure what game was that but it was critical to series
