Thanks dude. My cheap ass will probably wait outside the gates, and buy from a scalper, though. I'll probably go to Saturday's game. Hopefully it will be at night.
meggoleggo - sounds like a hyped up version of CFISD security Apparently a few years ago they gave the vandy police the ability to be a real police force and have control surrounding campus as well. I think it surprises some of the people in the area who didnt think they could get stopped by a college police department hmm anyone know where i can get an indians cap in houston.. might as well get one signed this weekend when I can still pretty easily get it from him or have someone get it in the lockerroom for me... A month ago he was sitting by me in sociology and now he is an instant millionaire.. meanwhile well I have to go back to school! Not fair, not fair.
HAAAAAAA! That's freaking hillarious. I remember getting out of school early, and every FREAKING day, the old security geezer at Cy-Fair would ask, "Where do you think you're going?" I would just say, "Home" and keep walking. That's pretty much UTPD in a nutshell, only if you keep walking, they'll follow you and ask MORE questions.
meggoleggo - lol, when I was there people started calling him bob the renta cop and other names.. not sure if his name was really bob... he had way too much fun with those lights on the top of his cra.. then at one point they had an AP sit in his car so no one would see him on the road that hits cyp n houston beside the baseball field and he'd pop out and wave down your car to ask where you were going..
Have we determined whether if UTPD and the campus/transportation people have lives yet? I mean with the frequency and coldheartedness with which they administer parking tickets on campus, you would think they are robots or something. I love UT, but their parking policy is easily the worst thing about the university. I wish we could figure out how much they make off all the ticket traps they set up because I'm sure it's a lot. Anyways, I'm done with school as far as UT is concerned, but I clearly remember my first year on campus at the beginning of winter break I parked by my dorm(moorehill) because I had tried hauling laundry to the jester garage before and it was a disaster. Well as expected the "loading zone spots" were all taken, so I parked in one of the other spots, figuring i'll go in, get out in 5-10 minutes or so and leave. As soon as I walk out with my first batch of stuff(took a minute or maybe two), a UT parking/transportation nazi is right in front of my car about to write me a ticket. Luckily, I caught him just in time, moved the car and avoided the ticket, but I hope that gives you an idea of how crazy those people are.
lol.. so I'm guessing none of you thank the parking people for the fine job they do back to the regoinal.. i wish they'd hurry up and release the times
eh. now a player just informed me he could get me on the guest list and not have to pay.. after i ordered the tickets
Actually, one of the traffic guards has a kid that goes to the school that I work for. I've got the hook up! As with most PD's there are many cool people, but it's the few jackasses that give them a bad rep. I don't remember if they carry guns. Can anyone see any in these pics? http://www.utexas.edu/admin/utpd/gallery/gallery2.html
isabel.. thanks.. yeah it was okay... I didn't really expect to win... I know this takes steps... this is the coaches 2nd year and the team hasnt' even made the playoffs since 1980... he has world series experience from at clemson etc so he appears to have the team on the right track... as for the game.. I haven't talked to any players about specifics yet but texas played great and we just didn't have our usual stuff.. as well as texas was hitting.. if sowers (number 6 overall pick) has his stuff he doesn't get hit that bad by anyone.. including major league teams... a combination of texas playing unbelivably and us also not playing as well as we should have.. texas on their game beats vandy on our game... but by less than they did this weekend Thanks to the texas fans who were classy about things this weekend.. I don't hold the few that were acting like idiots against you all as a whole
idiots is probably too strong of a word, just some people that went overboard... appreciated the ones who cheered for our team as they went off the field etc though and the pubic address announcer congratulating us on the year
after learning more details about what went on.. i take that back.. they were idiots who made the school look bad
