I’m glad we are writing him off after 4 preseason games

Some people are forced to do things they may not wish to do
at times they may not want to perform such actions. The flip
side is the opposition forcing 11 year olds to take arms in
Vietnam or in Afghanistan or in Iraq. Cartels in Mexico.

Green was drafted but it's a different kind of draft. He was drafted
to play a game. If anyone doubts his heart to win, then they just
don't know Jalen Green. Dude has as much kill in him as MJ
    or Kobe.

Yeah!!! Give me something, man!! I really don’t want to get on the White KD bandwagon… That kid is legitimately weirding me out. Give me something to stay on the JG train…

Every person who has met him says as much.

    High School coach/teammates
    Philippines coach/ teammates
Ignite coach/teammates (Brian Shaw knew Kobe from days with Lakers.....
says Kobe had the same "It factor." Has to win at everything....even when
running suicide drills. Do I need to link the articles again?)

He says he should have been drafted number 1 constantly

Says he will win the rookie of the year..... endlessly

Go ahead and doubt him, but I won't. He has an extreme type "A" personality to the
    point of narcissism.

Edited: I think compulsive is the word I'm looking for. Compulsive complex that has
all or most of his attention on a daily basis.

I’m loving that! Huge if true. Let’s see it on the court! Getting his MVP in the figure skater costume will be the kind of stuff legends are made of.

Yes, Kobe had a win at all cost; cut throat mentality as did Michael Jordan. It's well documented
that Jordan had an insurmountable desire to win. Jordan would gamble often as an addiction.
Gamble a million dollars on a put in golf. Barkley confirms this accusation.

Some of us believe Jordan's father was targeted due to unpaid losses
    on bets by MJ.

Pete Rose also had this same drive in his blood.

Some of the greatest athletes and business entrepreneurs have this same extra
    component in their genes.

I just hope Jalen doesn't turn to gambling. I don't mind one bit that he
lives in the weight room and basketball gym. Doesn't date....eats
pizza rolls is the least of my concerns.

John Lucas is there to warn about the pitfalls of drugs......Steve Francis story
is also a living walking poster child for staying away from drugs. I say
this because the Green type A's often seek more.....turn to drugs for a little
    extra.

Too much talking about nonsense. All this attitude, girly, drive, ambitious stuff is all fluff imo until he gets the basics right.

I have never once heard Harden talk about himself, or people comparing his work ethic to Kobe. Yet he's probably the biggest gym rat we had in the past decade. He literally improved his game every single season, from a 3rd wheel into the best player in the league.

It doesn't matter how much it factor you have, if Jalen can't tighten his handles, or improve his jump shot he wont sniff a sixth man of the year let alone an all star.

Don't know what this has to do with me, I've never called him any of those things nor do I think it has any relation to his ability to play basketball. It's like saying you've never seen a superstar with curly hair or never seen a superstar who wears green socks. One just has nothing to do with the other.

Also you must have me confused with someone else if you think I'm one of the JG "cultists" because I've been more critical of him than most on this board, and in this thread.

on the basketball side: personality is not a hair style or color of socks. It matters. (It's not the only thing obviously, and maybe not the most important. What happened here is that I made a few comments, they got waaaaaaaay overblown and overreacted and now people are thinking this is the main thing. actually it is not. but it matters)

I know who you are, but I thought you were chiming-in on the previous exchanges that were about prejudices, toxic masculinity, social justice, etc... So I thought, "a bit rich on this board to be vilified as bigot by bringing Steph F Curry as "evidence" That's all...

Hopefully by the end Green has perfected the Dougie..... He has great potential, just naturally talented. My expectations are for him to perfect a minimum of a couple of dances by the end of the year.

Why is rookie year Jalen Green’s preseason such a big deal, but KPJr, who is going into his 3rd year and who many said would have been a top 5 pick in this draft easy, just dropped 16 ppg on 36/39/65 shooting splits, and it’s basically crickets?

Tyler Herro just went crazy in preseason. Is he better than KPJr now according to those same people?

no consistency whatsoever when it comes to crying about players on here

It's a matter of opinion. Not sure we had a better option at number 2

Others wanted Mobley/Suggs/Scottie Barnes but I feel the Rockets made
    the correct call.

At 6'6", fast, excellent leaping ability, capability of scoring at all three levels
of 3-pt line, Mid-range, Rim, plus FT line.....Jalen Green has a good probability of being
one of those rare 5-Tool NBA stars:

    1) Transition Offense
    2) Half Court Offense: 3's, Mid-range, Near Rim
    3) FT's
    4) Assists/Passing
    *5) Defender (Steals/Blocks/Rebound/Deflections)
    ...................a) perimeter
    ...................b) interior
    ...................c) transition

admittedly 5) defense will need to get better; but as I've said before, you draft
for what a player will be later and not so much what he is now.

Next year is where he turns from bronze to gold

He isn't even Best Rookie of the Rockets right now. He looks like a guy who's been used to out talenting everyone he's ever been on the floor with and now is shocked that he isn't getting to the cup as easy. Won't be too hard on him because his Top 5 brethren don't look much better (Cade will struggle too). Sengun and Mitchell just look a cut above every other Rookie right now. Its easier for Mitchell though as it's easy to just sell out on defense when nothing is expected of you offensively.
