seriously...who in the NL has been better at that position than AE? it's a very short list. in the field and at the plate.

He's probably been the best shortstop. I just didn't think fans in other cities knew that yet.

i agree with you. i'm surprised, too.

adam is quickly becoming one of my favorites. i don't recall the astros having a shortstop like this ever in my life. maybe, thon...but that was very short-lived. everett is the SS that Astros fans have been asking for forever.

Technically, AE has a great shot to make the all-star game because Edgar Renteria has not had his usual productive year.

Also, all those fans at MMP are defnitely doing something with those all-star ballots they hand out at the turnstiles.

But, this whole point is only raised because all the quality SS are in the AL... its kinda like the PF role of the Eastern Conference.

Hildalgo is 7th among outfielders and ensberg is ahead of lowell and ramierez along with brad " double play" ausmus 2nd among catchers! Thats why I love democracy.

Could the argument be made that Everett is the best defensive SS in the game today? I don't get to watch much baseball other than the Astros, but Adam's been amazing.

Alright Bags is just a couple thousand behind Pujols.

Biggio and Berkman are barely behind Griffey. We got to get them over the hump. I would love for Bigg and Bags to make it. If Berkman isnt a starter, he'll be a reserve for sure.

It's possible that Boston is voting for him as well. Although I have no idea. It's certainly something that could be happening given that Nomar is still #1.

Here are the current results. Everett's only up by 5000 votes.

Clemens and Petitt and the sold out MM park are really helping those numbers.

I'm glad Adam Everett is getting the recognition...and I agree with others, that I'm surprised other cities are apparently seeing this...

Kent should get this attention this year...2nd base competition seems to be weaker this year.

Kent is easily the best 2B in the NL. There is no one even close to his offensive production and he is solid enough on D.

As for Everett i am suprised that he is in the lead though he probaly deserves it. As others have mentioned he really hasnt caught on with the sportcenter/baseball tonight types yet. His offensive production doesnt set him apart from any of the SS's and his great defensive play isnt all that well known yet.
