Michael Porter Jr just averaged 22 and 8 on 56/47/81 shooting splits and 68% TS in 35 games post ASB at age 22…he is 1 of the best shooters in the league and could easily be a 24-25 ppg scorer

He needs 3-4 picks to be worth Ben Simmons? Nah

Denver is laughing in Philly’s face and blocking their number if they even dared to ask for MPJr in return for Ben Simmons

imho the value of these 2 is just reverse, philly needs to send 3-4 picks along benn simons in order to get MPJ from denver and still if i am denver i am not doing it...because what you gonna do with the picks? while with MPJ they are contenders when murray gets healthy...

agreed that Philly would need to be the 1 sending picks…MPJr isn’t much of a playmaker, but having a young shooter and scorer like that next to Embiid would be a massive win for Philly

would never give up MPJr for Ben Simmons, let alone MPJr and 3-4 picks

Philly can have like Barton and Bol Bol plus whoever else to match salary for Simmons

“He could easily” ? Ok dude. He averaged 19 and 7 for the year. The guy has a long history of back injuries at age 22. He’s not good defensively, doesn’t make plays for anyone else and he pouts when he’s not getting shots.
With Murray coming back from an serious injury, He’s going to have something to prove so Murray isn’t going to shoot less. And Murray has the ball. The Joker is the league MVP, he isn’t going to shoot less. How is Porter getting enough shots to get 24-25ppg? And if he’s not getting shots will he start b****ing about like he’s already done in the past ( before this massive extension ) ? Will he do anything else on the court if he’s not getting shots? Will he “hurt “ his back again and sit out of spite ( at Missouri) and demand a trade or having a real back injury history ( 2 surgeries) he could actually injure his back and have to sit. There are legit concerns about this guy.

I wonder what MPJ and Simmons combined into one player would look like. GOAT level?

The top contracts below the MVP tier are all super risky. 2 years ago Ben Simmons was an obvious max player. Now some people would prefer Jaesean Tate. Porter is similar. Teams can only win a championship if their non-MVP allstars make a leap, so they have to bet on that. If they do make a leap, then they can be worth much more than a max. But it rarely happens.

I think you underrate him like crazy. The only thing stopping him from being a star is injuries. I think next he will be the best player in the Nuggets and they have MVP Jokic on the team. He has that much potential. Philly should trade Simmons and 2-3 picks for him.

    yes, easily

    19 and 7 on 55/45/79 shooting splits, 66% TS, and a 125 offensive rating…

    at age 22

the only thing that would stop him from averaging 24-25 ppg is lack of opportunity and shot attempts because he clearly has the talent to do so

none of that requires 3-4 picks for him to be worth Ben freaking Simmons…Denver would laugh in Philly’s face if they even dared to ask for MPJr in exchange for Simmons

Its a lot easier for Porter Jr to take more shots than it is for Simmons to learn how to shoot.

I still dont know what Simmons brings to the table that Thybulle doesnt. Playmaking? Lulz playmking from a dude who cant shoot is useless, you dotn want a dude who cant shoot touching the ball unless he is making a layup or dunk.
