This. If we're going with a hypothetical of "If Eric plays well and if there are teams desperate enough" then sure anything can happen by the trade deadline. But as it stands now, it's kind of hard to expect a 1st Rounder back for Eric Gordon given his contract, his injury history, etc.

I don’t think at this point you even really want a 1st round pick unless it is a decent one. So you would need to take a bad contract back with it that doesn’t last for more than two seasons. Perhaps give them Tate as well or KMJ.

Maybe a developing big, and a 2nd round pick would do it.

He needs to go though, he is in decline and will only get worse.

    Bingo

    A 'shooter' who shot 32% & 31% from 3 the past 2 seasons

    Much like Wall:

    - Every minute of game time he gets now is one not given toward the development of Green / KPJ / Josh ... the future of our backcourt

    - Anything but a buyout will be a borderline-miraculous ending to EGo's time as a Rocket

He needs to be packaged with Wood and House and sent to GoldenState for Wiggins and some of their prospects.

It will help GS's win now mode and help offset the massive tax penalties they are facing.

EG is still more than capable of playing his initial role. The Rockets expanded their zone of comfort with him, bringing down the %'s and putting him at greater risk of injury. I wouldn't waste time after he demonstrates that he's healthy. EG can start for a team like the Pacers, or be the sixth man on a title team. (higher value than many folks give him credit for)

Eric Gordon for 2nd round pick and Trade Exception at this point would be fine.

Last year I thought if the Warriors really wanted to go all in, some sort of trade sending eric gordon, wood, and pj tucker to warriors for some combination of Wiggins, wiseman, and picks made a lot of sense. I personally am not high on Wiseman but it'd be worth a gamble given the price. Now I'm doubting this sort of construction still makes sense. Warriors have no more premium draft picks left, if Wiseman improves they'll want to keep him, if he doesn't, I don't think we want him, and there two rookies are definitely untouchable outside of a superstar. Same thing with Wiggins. He's overpaid, but he's still valuable to Warriors and I don't think trading Wiggins plus some other stuff for Gordon makes the Warriors better, barring some catastrophic injury to Wiggins.

TBH, from a basketball perspective, he actually would fit really well on a team with Zion as perimeter player who can hit outside shots, drive, and defend multiple positions. Too bad Pels fans would absolutely revolt if they traded for him.

Westbrick to Rox? G*a*s*p. But it worked out. Til it didn’t.
Artest to Rox? Double g**a**s**p. But it worked out.

EGo to Pels? If there were a deal the fans would get on board. Or whatever. But, revolt? Nah, get over that. IMHO.

I agree/I disagree. EGo should go to a better opportunity (Indy ideal); but, the man is a plus positive.
