That wouldnt work out well for SIlas. Houston has nothing to look forward to but Green. He will be killed in the media just like the Hornets coach was until he started Lamelo. That coach looked stupid. Green was in the gleague last year not like he was in college and we only won 17 games. There is no reason in not starting Green. There's no pressure on him since we sucked last year and we arent expecting a winning season. You start all the vets and we still lose what is the point in that?

Yep pretty much common sense taht this should be the lineup at this point. This is the lineup I put in the rotation thread.

Lamelo wasn’t alone, Edwards and Halliburton both came off the bench as well. I’m fine with Green starting over Tate, his shooting is probably a better fit next to Wall/KPJ. But I wouldn’t be surprised either if the first 10 games or something he comes off the bench playing 25 mpg. Onlyfans take that as some slap in the face when plenty of rookies took the same path.

Wall off the bench until he accepts a reasonable buyout.

Right but you dont want to do something just because another team did it. It was proven pretty early that Lamelo and Edwards were starter material. Just start them. It would be different if Harden were still here and we had a winning team we dont so what is the point of not starting him on a bad team.

Green will be off ball a lot this season so he's gonna be fine with Wall or KPj, but all 3 won't work. Tate's the 3. Were not benching our star #2 pick on a 17 win team. That's never going to happen, so KPj likely off the bench to get good run at the point and learn how to set up Gordon like how he will set up Green in the future as a starter after we showcase Wall for a trade.

0% chance kpj is coming off the bench. He is significantly better player than Green right now and only a few years older. They traded Oladipo away for what ended up close to nothing in return to open up a starting spot for KPJ, they are not going to bench him now for a rookie that’s worse. Kpj is headed for a breakout season, the whole world knows this which of why he is second in most improved player odds.

Whoever the best 5 in practice should start. Whoever puts in the work should start. And that goes for Wall, KPJ and Green. Only person who maybe shouldn’t start is Gordo because he’s good at coming off the bench and providing scoring. But other than that — you earn your minutes like everyone else.

If the best players will start then Tate would very likely start over Green. Onlyfans would take that as a knock on Green but Tate is 25 years old and has a full nba season worth of experience so it should be expected. Only reason I’m fine with Green starting over Tate even though he is a lesser player is because the starting lineup needs the shooting and would be a better fit.

Green is not coming off the bench come on now!

I believe this will be the lineup.

    Wall/KPJ/Green/Wood/Theis
Bench: Augustin/Gordon/Nwaba/Tate/Sengun. Gordon has excelled as a 6th man.

House has no room and maybe will get traded.

Doesn't matter who starts.. It matters who finishes the game, after being down 25, to inflate their stats..

Well, position still matters. Green is a 2, he should compete against the guards for PT/starting. Tate should compete against forwards.

Do you mean next year or this year?
Y’all really think Green is just going to come into the nba and be better than a 10 year vet and former all star? Because he played a season in the g league and summer league? It’s not impossible, but it’s not likely. There’s a learning curve.

This year. Jalen Green is a special talent and much more NBA ready than most roomies considering his g league experience.

Green will average 20 and win ROY.

Wall really isn’t that good anymore.

Didn't someone say that they'd just start all 3?

Most teams are small any ways, you can get away with starting Wall/KPJ/Green and rotating one of them out earlier.

Why not have the player that competes and earns his spot in trainig camp start. These guys need to grind for respect. If you give them stuff without them struggling for it will yield bad results

I see 3 separate issues with why we need to start all 3.
Green because he was the #2 overall pick and that's what's expected of that high a selection. (image DOES play a role here)
KPj I would start because it might be hard for him to take if he feels he has earned a starting job and didn't get it.
Remember he freaked out when he lost a locker!
That's nothing compared to losing a starting job!
I don't believe in coddling players but we need to be mindful of his somewhat fragile psyche until he matures another year or two.

Wall we need to try to build up his trade value, at least to the point where we can eventually trade him without giving up any assets in the process.
Plus we want him to be a "happy camper" behind the scenes and be as much of a positive influence on the kiddos as he can.

I don't see a problem playing the 3 together offensively, the main issue will be who guards the sf?
Since KPj has reportedly grown over the summer I nominate him.

The biggest decision I see will be "do we play Wood at the the 5 and J. Tate at the 4, or Theiss at the 5 and Wood at the 4"?
Can Tate handle pf's in the league?

    1) pg Wall
    2) sg Green
    3) sf(pg) KPj
    4) pf Wood
    5) c Theiss

    or

    1) pg Wall
    2) sg Green
    3) sf(pg) KPj
    4) pf Tate
    5) c Wood

Tillman should hire Joey Dorsey to f*** john Wall so that he would be out for the season then KPJ and Green both can start.
