I really hope Slovenia beats France because I reckon we could knock off the Frenchies but the thought of having Delly try to guard Luka is already giving me nightmares
He hasn't really turned up for the national team much Meantime Patty plays like a 20ppg NBA scorer for the national team I think Simmons is loved and regarded as our most talented player (ever?), just a shame he didn't play at the Olympics.
Zoran Dragic. Really showing why he's the no name brother in this game against France. Holy moly he is putrid this game.
Career-wise 2nd best (NBA ) he is most successful no doubt! (Luc Longley of Chicago bulls 3peat bulls is 1st IMO) but Andrew gaze Fiba wise and international accolade are the most decorated that why he considers the best.
Really surprised France were 4 point underdogs lol. Still super close game could have went either way at the end
USA vs, France would be fun to watch... Gob Luka got shaken up he injured his shooting arm in the 4th plus not his best shooting night ... his teammate Tobey and Prepelic carry the load
Nothing special, for Doncic. Note, he only scored 12 against Spain, too. So, he seems fine believing in his team to create out of his gravity Nah He banged his left wrist. If you re-watch from that point on, the announcer just created a false narrative out of thin air, that it was his shooting wrist
In closing minutes, Gobert tried to swat away two missed free throws, and instead created putbacks by SLO for 4 points goaltending rules backfired, lulz. Those were misses, if he just grabs the rebound instead how often does that happen in FIBA when the swatting misses backfires like that?
Good question about misfires, but I love the impact of taking the ball off the rim. The NBA should go in this direction because this rule rewards athleticism, giving big guys more opportunities to make an impact. With a rule change, we might see a shift from guards dribbling out the clock in these endless one-on-one matchups. Why not let the players who can battle above the rim be on the highlight reel? Today of all days (after this France vs Slovenia thriller), we should acknowledge that the blocked shot at the rim is the most exciting play in basketball.
That was an awesome ending and I really don't understand why Luka kept shooting threes like that, highly contested, when he was clearly not himself.
Completely different USA team that the French are going to see. iirc Holiday, Middleton and Booker's mentality weren't ready for basketball in Japan yet (5 days removed from winning/losing the Finals, time zone difference, etc) in that first game. We're as fine-tuned as we're going to be for the Final game. I don't expect Fournier to hang 28 on us again.
