Not close enough. We were terribly unlucky with the CP3 injury. That would have given us one NBA championship.
I definitely would think that if Harden won his first ship by 27 or 28, it would have opened up the world for him. Definitely a different situation. Needless to say the role players must be very elite.
The fact he was considered the third best player on the OKC team stunted his trajectory a little bit. We couldn't get a top flight second star to play with him. We were hoping Dwight was going to be the one but his ego got in the way because he failed to understand he wasn't close to Harden's level. Harden really only got one season of real help and we were so close. If he wins this year and get Finals MVP which he should, every one will have to reevaluate his greatness.
Watch the last year Dream was here —> it was sad. Les was right to let him go. If there was anything left wouldn’t Toronto give him more years. Be honest with your memories.
I love you brother but Dream didn’t want to give up the reigns to Steve and The Cat. If you remember he was playing like crap most of the year and then he had a stretch where it looked like he turned back the clock and was playing really good ball and he thought he was still a dominant big. There was a power struggle and he couldn’t accept the fact that he wasn’t the focal point of the offense anymore. I love Dr34m but we can’t place the blame for the Toronto episode on anyone but himself. Obviously everything is all good now.
I think he overestimated his ability because of a good stretch at the end of the season. Steve and Cat were talented, but Hakeem knew a championship was no longer in reach here. Why did he choice the Raptors is a mystery to me. Carter and McGrady were better than Steve and Cat, but they weren't good enough to go all the way. Hakeem did his best for us even in his last year. I will always remember him as our franchise player and the prime reason for our back to back NBA championships.
Wow all this because Rudy T spoke truth to POWER. Nothing to discuss. HAKEEM IS THE GREATEST ROCKET EVER, PERIOD. Just because you make a poll doesn't mean it is up for debate. lol
Unfortunately yes. The same thing happened to Muhammad Ali. Even Jordan came back to play with the Wizards when he was no longer at his best. Shaq went from team to team.
Hakeem could do anything he wanted on the floor and rose to the challenge of his rivals. Eye of the Tiger isn't a song about Rocky, it's about Hakeem the Dream. Harden was the worst superstar we've ever had. Hakeem is the GREATEST ROCKET OF ALL TIME. Say it like Muhammed Ali would say it in his prime.
