Interesting number 1 https://www.rollingstone.com/tv/tv-lists/best-tv-sitcoms-1162237/schitts-creek-2015-2020-1163263/ 2 and 3 are Cheers and Seinfeld. I think Seinfeld is #1.
Most important is that somehow, someway, Bum Phillips is quoted in this list. And that my fellow wolf pack, is nuts.
I looked to through it and missed that. Married with Children is not on there? That makes absolutely no sense. Seriously, that would be in a lot of people's top 5 or 3.
Seinfeld is still great, but I don't know if it's aged well. I was a kid when All in the Family and Taxi were on, and soooooo funny.
Not having stuff like Married with Children , King of Queens, Futurama in a top 100 ranking is absurd, what an abysmal list.
No Head of the Class, No Saved By The Bell, No Full House, No Salute your Shorts, No Dream On, No Mr. Belvedere, No Mama's Family, No Alf, None of them are on there. I could go on.
There are ones that I don't like but I'll concede on their popularity or general cultural impact. For example, could never get into Frasier, but when it was on, was one of NBC's top rated shows. Mary Tyler Moore, Taxi, some of those shows that aired on Nick at Night; those shows held up, nice nod to see them high up.
I'd put Schitt's Creek at the top of my list. Some of those are still funny, but many are just corny as hell to me now.
Garbage list. I don't consider some of these Sitcoms. MASH wasn't a sitcom. SpongeBob isn't a sitcom. Sex and the City wasn't a sitcom. Others are massively dated, showing the demo of Rolling Stone magazine. The IT Crowd not being on the list disqualifies it completely. It's a top 5 in my book.
maybe i missed it, but where was three's company? i figured that would be top 15-20 and i didnt even see it on the list. i dont think of animated shows as "sitcoms", but im good with simpsons in the #1 spot if theyre going to include them (im NOT good with KOTH being #41 though). otherwise my #1 & # 2 would be seinfeld and i love lucy. they have the entire andy griffith series on amazon and ive been watching it from time to time. its nice to watch during the pandemic and turbulent times were in as its just a "nice" and "innocent" show. its funny without being mean or sarcastic, unlike a lot of modern comedy. it takes me back to a simpler time. jeffersons at #48 is ridiculous. sanford & son at #80 is even more ridiculous good times at #60 too and modern family at # 84 - should be much higher - for me thats one of the best sitcoms of the 21st century.
They dont have Martin or My Wife and Kids on this list makes me want to throw this list in the garbage. take phineas and ferb off this list and free up some space. its a good show but doesn't belong here. come on now.
