I see. So we are trading away one Milwaukee FRP to get another Milwaukee FRP in return, and then also, we are trading our SRP (probably top 5) for their FRP (probably bottom 5). So we essentially have traded PJ for the ability to move up one of our picks from very early 2nd to very late first? We didn't even net an extra pick, we're just moving one of our picks up 5-10 spots. Is that right?
Thanks PJ! Wow can't believe someone took on Kurucs. A total project if not a NBA player at all. Maybe he'll have time to develop in their g-league affiliate. He never got burn here.
meh...I didn’t expect much anyways Wilson is the black Sam Dekker...basically a scrub with some athleticism
Surprised tilman signed off on the extra $ that the first rd pick will make compared to the 2nd we had.
Wilson is a RFA Augustin on the books for one more year (technically “two” but 2nd year is non-guaranteed — 2021-22: $7,000,000 2022-23: $7,333,333 — 7/1/22 — DJ Augustin’s $7,333,333 guarantees for 2022-23.) Milwaukee currently has the 25th pick; Houston’s 2nd currently 33rd... 2023 unprotected 1st Tucker was expiring Kurucs is trash People gonna b**** just to b****. “We got nothing for this 36-year old expiring!”
I guess people were expecting to get James Harden back in exchange for Tucker or something. Tucker is a 36 year old expiring role player averaging 2 points per game. Getting extra/improved first round draft picks seems like not a bad thing.
So long to one of the best role players that ever put on a rockets jersey. Good luck pj, you’ll always be a rocket.
I really, really wish GM’s valued Tucker the way some of y’all seem to. I get saying it’s not just an absolute steal, but to see some of the complaining about this trade is just strange.
From the looks of things, that'll only move us up about 10 or so spots in the draft. Now we have at LEAST 3 picks in the second half of round one.
There seems to be two types of reactions to this trade. Reaction #1: Those, like myself, that agree with this sentiment. Unless I’m missing something, this seems like a win for us. Granted, my expectations were low, but I agree with all of the above. And then there’s reaction #2: those echoing what @Nook is saying. Somebody who’s posts I consider to be must-reads on this forum. Sooo, yeah, I don’t know what to think.
I think this was a great trade all things considered. I was only expecting a second rounder or a young end of the bench type player.
I think it’s a fine trade...nothing special, but I didn’t expect anything special for PJ Tucker, so it’s cool I guess trade gets a shrug from me basically
