Absolutely zero reason for the Rockets to be pursuing him.

Rockets should be hunting bad contracts for assets and Teenagers.

The writer of this article is anti-tank and basically did what every other source does this time of year... aggregates from other sources

    Houston Rockets

This, I will admit, is a strange one. The Rockets with John Wall and Christian Wood healthy together are 7-3, and 4-0 since the Harden trade. With those two and Oladipo? 3-0.

Why would Houston not want to see what this team can do?

And yet, the feeling is that at least Oladipo will be moved at the deadline, in addition to possibly more.

Oladipo makes sense on one level: He is an unrestricted free agent this summer who is looking for a max contract. It is no secret that the Rockets have been paring back spending under owner Tillman Fertitta, and even more so since the pandemic began.

It’s just a shame that Wall can have looked so great since returning from his Achilles injury and not really get a chance to see what this team can do. TrueHoop linked Wall to Miami, but the Heat lack the kind of draft capital the Rockets need to recoup what they gave up for Russell Westbrook, even after the Harden trade.

P.J. Tucker is going to get moved, something that has been telegraphed for some time. However, Houston is still asking for a high price for Tucker. The Rockets want good young talent and picks for everyone they’re entertaining offers for, which seems an unlikely return for a 35-year-old 6-foot-6 small-ball center.

Brooklyn was thought to be a prime landing spot until the Nets nabbed Blake Griffin. The Lakers reportedly have their sights set on Andre Drummond, instead. One interesting name that several league sources suggested has interest in Tucker (but, again, lacks the draft capital): Milwaukee.

Then you may as well trade Wood and Tate.

Rebuilds with that type of narrow thinking is destined to fail.

Agreed, its likely neither Wood nor Tate will be a part of the Rockets next great team.

I'm ok with that too. Wood is ok but he's 25 lanky and not someone i'm building the team around. Neither is Tate. I'm not stopping until we get generational talent on the roster then we build up. Don't need building pieces until we find the foundational building piece. Everyone is available for the right price!

ON THE CONTRARY!! Ikeep telling you all....Woods is on a 3yr contract and he came here to WIN!

This year certainly out the window but if I'm Stone, I start putting pieces for next year in place now or at least show Woods we're going to have a solid roster moving forward.

    Woods
    KPJ
    AG - Wall/Oladipo trade
EG- keep him as a solid veteran
    Herro- Wall/Oladipo trade

    Bench

    Patton
    Tate
    Nwaba
    2021 #1 Draft pick (Kuminga)
    2021 #1 Draft pick (Kispert)
    KJ Martin
    Auchua- Wall/Oladipo trade

I wanted him a few years ago when the Rockets were contenders.

    Not now.

And I keep telling you, Wood (there is no s bro and as an aside, how you gonna stan so hard for a dude and not even know his name?) doesn't matter. His feelings are irrelevant. We won't win with him. He is not a franchise player. He is, at best, a guy who might reach the heights of Chris Bosh. He's been a super pleasant surprise and I love the kid and his story too, but we can trade him with the rest of them in so far as I'm concerned because he likely won't be here by the time this team is worth a damn. Please don't tell me you truly believe Christian friggin' Wood is going to lead us where James Harden could not. And if he can't, who cares? He's not part of our future then. Make the most of his team friendly contract at some point this year or next.

p.s. Did you really somehow design a trade in which we get back a positive asset for John Wall? Somebody call a mental healthcare facility. I am worried about this guy.

p.p.s. that team you constructed might actually be worse than this year's squad.

Yes, why hasn't anyone written about proposed trades for Aaron Gordon?

I wouldn't mind him even now, if he recovers quickly and completely from his ankle injury, but I would pass up on him, because we need Cade Cunningham more than him.

How long did it take before Rockets acquired a generational talent like Harden again?

There was 15 loooooooooong ass years of zero playoff wins (if we even got into the playoffs) before we traded for Harden.

    I dont have that patience.

    Or health.

LOL. Imagine arguing that we shouldn’t keep Wood because he might be the next Bosh.
