Not really, but I wouldn't be surprised if they could organize something like this. Local favorite playing in his last all-star game at home. Would also be the first player to be an all-star at three positions, I think. I could see it happening if there was some publicity for it.
The Rockets were one of the top teams in the all star voting at the arenas. We got DD the Pepsi Rookie of the Year when a lot of people thought it should have been Anquan Boldin. DD and AJ received multiple Pepsi rookie of the week too. I think Houston fans will. I think you are only allowed 25 votes online so it will be harder to stuff the ballot box. We'll just have to stuff it at the ball game.
I remember a few years back Seattle had like 8 or so all-stars when the game was in Seattle, and then there's the Yankees who have around that every year. It'd be awesome to have a number like that this year at home. Bagwell, Biggio, Roy, Roger, Hidalgo, and Dotel all have a pretty nice shot. Great way to start the series yesterday, and I can't forsee us losing with the Rocket on the mound tonight. I've watched every game he's pitched so far, but I'll miss part of tonight's game because I'll be watching another Clemens (Kobe) start the Memorial vs. Stratford game. Probably the biggest 5A game around since both are 12-1 in district and will be playing for the district title tonight, and it's already a fierce rivalry that's been going on for years.
Here's a link for the All Star ballot. http://houston.astros.mlb.com/NASAp...&content_id=725858&vkey=allstar2004&fext=.jsp Is there going to be a Reds @ Astros thread? Edit - Right when I post the question the thread pops up.
