Their most impactful player, Gobert, is a strictly regular season player. They aren't gonna make any noise in the playoffs. As Rockets fans we should be subject-matter experts on regular season wonders that are far less effective in the playoffs.

 

Sure but the Playoffs in the Bubble were somewhat a fluke for the Heat.......the Heat have been so atrocious in RS.

The Playoffs are also not the same without audience.

We are so spoiled by having an automatic contender that we assume anything else is 'barely a playoff team' and should be blown up. It is a myopic view. Look around the league - there is 1 super-team, 2-4 great teams, and everyone else. We can be as good as anyone of the "everyone else" ... which means top 10 in the league is absolutely in reach.

Having zero continuity and the early season drama set us back in terms of absolute record, but even with that our point differential is squarely in the playoff range and we are only a few games out of a 5-7 seed.

Does that mean a championship? No, of course not. But it is a hell of lot more fun than taking two years off while hoping for a damn ping pong ball to go our way, then waiting for 3 years for that prospect to mature. Be good and be ready to strike with draft picks and tradeable assets when the next star becomes available.
