So we went to the Round Rock Express game today for our group's offsite. He led off the game with a triple to deep left-center, which would have been a homer in Minute Maid. He got a couple of other base hits, drove in two runs, and stole a base. Hopefully this will translate to some success in the big leagues. For now, it looks like we have Biggio's successor in center field in a couple of years. Good trade by Hunsicker, as soft tossers like Jeriome Robertson just don't last in the NL.
How about this opening day lineup for 2006?? Tavares - CF Burke - 2B Berkman - 1B Hidalgo - RF Lane - LF Ensberg - 3B Everett - SS Buck - C Pitching Staff - Oswalt Pettite Miller Buchholz Hernandez Bullpen - Harville Lidge Dotel
I don't know if we'll be able to keep Dotel after next year, esp. if he puts together a great year numbers wise... Lidge and Harville, however, can be kept for awhile at a much cheaper rate. Plus, by then, I'm sure we'll churn out another flame-thrower outta AAA (E. Astacio, D. Grigsby). Also, not sure where we'll get the $$$ to pay Hidalgo... but I am for trading Bagwell to an AL club around 2006, when it will be pretty evident that he can't play in the field anymore (maybe we could even steal a few prospects as well...)
Surprisingly, that triple is his only extra base hit this season. He needs to cut down on the strikeouts and learn to walk alittle more. Here's his stats: .361, 0 HR, 0 2B, 1 3B, 8 RBI, 3BB, 14 K, 8 SB
